So today meant what...?... last week, he was saying some of the youngsters might get their chance... are you telling me HV is streets ahead of others in our academy as you seem to be closer to the club. Rosenior is 'safe' in his style, defence of his process, and his chosen players. As i've said before, what incentive do these young lads have other than to go and play for another club. And as for the strikers thing and managing fitness... we were safe 4 games ago, why wasn't he prepared to blood others as he did Vaughan..
Probably because he was blooding Vaughan and you can't make wholesale changes until you're basically playing the u21s. Is that fair on the player? You want to see them alongside more established quality in a competitive fixture don't you?
He could have played Figs, Woods, Malcolm and Pelkas. He's certainly trying to give their profiles a boost.
I'll agree with you there. Both sides weakened and both on the beach. Could have shook hands on a point each before kickoff. If he's given 3 youngsters 3 and 4 minutes respectively then you have to ask why he's doing it. It's clearly not a Vaughan situation where he trusts them to start the last 6 is it? It's to give them something on their CV's either for the loan widow or to give them an incentive for next season.
I wonder what odds on a loan signing of KLP next year.....if we're happy to chuck 20-30k on larkers like Pelkas we may have a change on a similar offering for him, you'd certainly know what you're getting for your money with him too, been a complete and utter waste of a season for him this year, think we all saw it coming but sadly his agent and people around him got in his ear.
32k on Pelkas, 25k on Connolly, Woods isn't on a low wage, Malcolm wasn't cheap. Baxter off the wagebill (though offset and then some by potentially Darlow) Figs isn't a massive earner but now apparently fit and not playing, Doc on his way and we're just protecting our fee by triggering him. Elder won't be a huge saving and he will have suitors as a free agent, but it's clear where the priorities are. GK, LB, RCH, DM, LW, RW.
From memory he's had a routine operation thy has taken him out for the end of their season. Rated by their fans I'm sure he'll come good / more game time next season
Always found him a bafflingly overrated player. We talk down some really good players at times (see the Slater chat a couple of pages back, days after him winning multiple POTY awards) and at other times talk up on loan rubbish like Bernard who was only ever here because we were working with a League 1 budget at the time, and even then only played because Jones was injured.
Then Jones goes under the radar and he's been our most consistent player. People focus on dropping Greaves for Macca as the main reason for our defensive improvement but it wasn't, it was Jones for Figueredo.
