It's 11.00 am. People get confused with the date 11/11.

Actually got off me arse and stood in-front of the telly.

I'm not exactly pro military but lest we forget those who lost their lives fighting for their country, whatever the reason.

The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

I'm pleased to see that most people did observe it.

The whole office stopped working at 11 for 2 minutes and the silence was impeccable.

Made every student in the communal areas and classes observe this. Whatever your views on the military, you should adhere to the silence as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives.

Over here in Australia it was Armistice day, but I'd completely forgotten and at my school everyone was going on about 11PM on the 11th day of the 11th month of the 11th year earlier on.

So in class just as everyone went silent I began to swearily rant about how stupid it was that people make such a big deal out of such minute crap. All the while people were telling me to shut up, without explaining why. I'm so used to being told to shut up I just kept going until I saw the Poppy logo on someone's Google.

    I then collapsed with embarrassment.

Rest in peace to the war dead.

I apologise for this clown on behalf of Australia...

I attended my local RSL, shouted beers for the vets and remembered those who have left us....

I will admit ANZAC day is more publicised over here... So that maybe an excuse...

I did witness an older man smack a school girl across the face because she was wearing the poppy in her hair....

    We will remember them
