I would go for him in the summer. Mowbray is doing a cracking job with the kids but not sure he has what it takes to be head coach in the premier league.
Got to get there first, and for that I'd rather keep Mowbray....as you say, he's doing cracking job. I'm happy to let him continue doing it.
To me he's a bit too smug and full of himself. No doubt he's a pretty decent manager, but I don't think he's as good as he believes he is. Just my opinion on him.
Aye he thinks he is world class and would eat himself if he was a bar of chocolate! I watched the first episode of that Liverpool documentary years ago when he was there. And if it was the fact I knew it was real I would have sworn it was the new office. A big portrait of his own face at home wtf!
What? You mean you don't have one in your living room??? Seriously though, it screams of the Alan Partridge episode with the deranged fan...
He's a very exaggerated version of Lee Johnson. I think he's a decent manager but definitely unlikeable.
Is Dyche, Potter, Rodgers, Hodgson, Moyes, that bloke at Villa, etc, any better than Mowbray ... ... not sure tbh.
I don't see the rush to replace Mowbray, seems to me he's doing the right things and moving in the right direction, as long as we keep improving season after season there's no reason to replace him. He's earning the right to keep being our head coach, if he gets us to the Premier league then he's earned the right to be in charge for at least one season, and as I said if he keeps on improving us then he's earned the right to carry on
History would say Mowbray is a good championship manager but been found lacking at the top level. Maybe he just didn’t have the squad when he took West Brom up but also failed to compete with Rangers when he was at Celtic. I’d rather not get relegated for the sake of being nice to a manager and still having to sack him after Christmas. Rather move him to a support role to give some continuity and put a more tactically capable coach in place close season.
The man has had over 800 games in management. You're citing less than 10% of his career, 13-14 years ago, and not whilst with us, as a reason to remove someone from their position who is doing a good job. In every other walk of life, people learn with experience and self improvement is possible. Why do we just assume that a manager will perform identically to what he did in a previous scenario?
It would be very interesting to see how we would compete in tbe PL playing the way we are now. Personally, I think it would suit us down to the ground tbh. Obviously we would need to strengthen but the style of play is already embedded with the squad.
