    LFC future squad guesses

    Sales:
Matip if we could find a buyer (highly unlikley) so contract expiry 2024
thiago - can't run, end of. Again highly unlikley to see a buyer so another contract expiry 2024.
williams - has been told he will be cone
Phillips - will eventually be sold but we paid him 60k and no club will give it. #reality prob about 5-6 mil max.
Adrian - out of contract 2023
    firmino out of contract 2023
    ox out of contract 2023
    Keita out of contract 2023
kelleher, wants to go so let him. 25mil

    GK:
    1. Alisson - massive asset.
Davies - better than kelleher at same age by a mile. Will be club trained eventually
Pitaluga - developing decently. Will also be club trained eventually.

    RB:
trent - lets face it, it will always be trent. Club trained no 1
Ramsay - could be club trained if we are lucky.

    RCB:
    2. Konate - we might be lucky to keep this lad fairly soon.
Gomez. Club trained no 2, he won't be sold unless the bid is silly.

    LCB:
3 VVD. we just need to accept we need to change how we use these guys as they age and the shape of the side to suit

    LB:
    4. Robertson - we wont be changing this in the near term
    5. Tsmikias - the cheap reserve. this wont change

    No 6:
Bajcetic - Will be club trained eventually but its a long way off
Morton - Will be an options or someone to sale, his range of passing is massive.
    6. Fabinho - we won't sell the guy.

    LCM: ???
    jones. club trained no 3

    RCM:
Henderson - association trained player no 1. aged
Milner - association trained player no 2. decrepit i'll bet you he gets a new contract again

    LW:
    7. Diaz
    8. Nunez
    Carvalho Associaiton player no 3.

    No 9:
    9. Gakpo
    10. Jota

    RW:
    11. salah
elliott. - will eventually be club trained player
    doak as per elliott eventually.

In our squad then there would be 8 u21 players. only 11 foreign players, 2 rickety old crocks.

now with about 90mil to spend to get about 6 foreign players to build this squad up It'll be quite the challenge imo.

We are facing into 2 or 3 years of having an 11 and not much more so only league and whatever euope we can get will be only priorrites.

    Alisson
    Trent Konate VVD Robertson
    Henderson Bajectic ?
    Salah nunez/gakpo Diaz

IMo we will need more than 90mil to get back to having 2 players in every slot.

I'm not sure why you don't like Kelleher. Whoever we have coming through hasn't yet played in, or proven themselves in the first team. Personally I'm more than comfortable with Kelleher, he's cool and unflappable and I'd actually favour him in a shootout.

    I don't dislike him.

    But.

    a) he is quite injury prone
    b) i don't think he is all that at the basics of keeping (shot stopping, catching)
    c) most of all he wants to go.

he is very good at running about outside his box and at passing the ball and saving pens.

Harvey davies has played, he's very very good with his feet, has the longesy arms i've ever seen so is a good shot stopper and is just better than kelleher was at same age (and i saw Kelleher at that age)

The guy wants to go so my view is "all the best."

Have we had a better backup keeper in recent decades?

Kelleher is really good but I get the sense that he wants more game time which he won't get unless Alison's form starts to fall off a cliff.

He's a sellable asset and we are a sell to buy club unfortunately.

and his asset value will never be higher.

We got 12mil for danny ward from nowhere and that lad was never half the player kelleher is so there will be club looking this summer so we should cash in.

Still can't believe we didnt sell Nat Philips after 20/21 - that was his prime value.

Yep and that's when we should have been looking to rebuild. However, you could argue their case because they were first teamers who were getting a lot of mins.

Nat was never going to become a starter after that season or get any more mins after that season. So his value would only decline from that point onwards. By the sounds of it, Nat wanted the move and the club got offers but we got greedy.

I honestly think the player himself had something to do with it. his wages were probably putting clubs off. 15mil was nothing really and i'm sure the club would have settled with a club who were serious.

I honestly don't think anyone really wanted him enough. he's that slow that putting a 60k or whatever he was looking millstone round your neck as a newly promoted side made no sense to most imo.

We've had this argument before. Imo, we need squad fillers because we can't afford to have 25 top notch players like Man City or Chelsea can. Players like Phillips, Jones and Milner (you love him really) are equivalent to when Man Utd were winning everything with Brown, Butt and Anderson in their squad

We're also a sell to buy club - and our world class players are now regressing. We have to sell such players that you mentioned to bring in new players to raise the bar.
