Mike Edwards Ian Graham Klopp The holy trinity that built our amazing team. Unfortunately two of those have left
Connor Gallagher now being linked with us, hopefully a load of b*llocks. I suspect as Chelsea have to shed a few players to meet FFP rules we will be linked to every flop they want to get rid of
nothing against cheap buys and freebies. As long as they suit the style and system we want to implement. It may even force us to go back to being clever and efficient with our recruitment
^^^ This all i want is players signed who fit the cost / name means nothing . After all most were underwhelmed to say the least with the signing of Mo with me and Jimmy being 2 of a few happy with that signing . oh and who wouldn't want to have paid £3m for Mitoma
Agree massively but Jude would be a name signing though, and for a lot of money. With several leaving this summer, we need to buy a few too.
He wouldn’t be a name signing. The kid is the real deal. World class midfielder for the next 10 years
But it’s not. It’s a massive money based on his ability and potential. a name signing would be going and signing neymar or messi on a freebie.
Paul Joyce says fsg will back klopp this summer with significant money to spend. Bellingham remains number 1 and is keen on the move
Jude would be a quality signing but he's not worth the £100m+ being quoted. Even he was, it's a name signing because he's the current big thing. You can sign a quality player that's a perfect fit and it's still a marquee name signing. The two aren't exclusive.
I'm expecting us to be very active this summer. Several leaving, several more needing to be replaced and we obviously need a couple of additions before all that anyway. We won't fix all that in one window but I'm expecting four or five arrivals (excluding youngsters)
Bellingham Part Name, Part English Surcharge, Part Ability and Part Promise of further growth. The potential is never guaranteed, but he's already good enough even if he doesn't improve. The price is a tricky thing though. There are equally good players who don't necessarily have same potential but they're as.good now at half the price.
marquee signing is very different. Maybe just how we interpret the the phrase big name signing. I take that as someone that is only signed because of their name rather than any potential ability.
a marquee signing is going out and buying Harry kane, expecting 30 goals a season and ro win things. or a lewandowski or a thaigo
How often does a marquee signing not be a big name...? That's kind of the point of a marquee signing.
Probably a lot of crap... But... Rumours swirling that Klopp is off to Real Madrid this summer. Hoping it's just an April Fool's prank not clearly marked as such.
