Only city can be confident of finishing where they are now. Rivalries and bias aside competition is very healthy this year so anything can happen. I think we are looking at a very exciting season <ok>

Good attempt at a wind-up <ok>, but ultimately you're trying too hard, and it shows, my friend.

Last season, we finished 5th, and that was despite the fact that all of our strikers were dreadful,
netting less goals between them than Rooney scored by himself. We relied on our midfield players, particularly Bale and VDV to score the goals. The net result was that we drew far too many games. Had even one of our strikers been on form we would have easily finished above Arsenal, and possibly City, too.

This season, Defoe has competition from Adebayor (as well as VDV), which seems to be getting him to show some interest, and he's already scored more than he did last season. The difference is clear to see, as we are now unbeaten in our last 8 EPL games, having won 7 and drawn 1.

Only a fool, or truly embittered rivals would write us off for 4th.

Ours were too, we still finished 2nd. This with our most influential midfielder for the best part of a decade missing half the season and being unfit and out of form for the other half. Our GK getting player of the year says it all.

I honestly believe that if every player was playing to their potential, as City's are now we would be at least as good as them.

Misfiring strikers is no excuse, last season was a poor season for strikers in general.

Well, talk is cheap (for all of us). For all the talk from Chelsea fans on this board about the Gooners finishing above us this season, ALL of the Chelsea boys I have spoken to in real life have admitted to me that they see us as the major threat to their finishing 3rd. I'm content with that, as I think it is a fair and honest assessment.

I can't wait till we play you, as I am confident that we will take the bragging-rights away from the game.

That's your opinion, but we heard this last season when you were ahead of us in the league.

You came 5th; we came second. We owned you for 15ht season running, so you can see why we are not bothered by one season wonders Spurs

Oh yeah sorry forgot we are fictional charactars <doh>

"This season we've already beaten Arsenal."

at the start of this season , my sons school team could have beat us .

Our worst start to a season for 53 years , so i wouldnt put much store in that win .

I don't think you're playing much better, now. But for RvP, you are a mid-table side, at best. I have no doubt that our defenders will be able to nullify his threat, and our attack will be far too much for your fragile defence.

I'm looking to us taking 6 points off you this season <ok>

Mid table side a little harsh but they are probably a RVP injury away from little or no chance at the top 4.

Okay, I'll admit that I was allowing my natural rivalry to cloud my assessment. If the Toon remain consistent, and if 'Pool can get donkey Carroll to actually score some goals, Arsenal will definitely struggle to finish inside the top 6, and will be looking at 7th spot. 3rd & 4th spot will be contested between us, and whilst I admit that Chelsea are favourites to clinch 3rd ahead of us, there are clear signs of weakness in both your team and your manager, and only a fool would deny that.

Bar City every team has a weakness.

Take King out the side and you are a completely different side. Your recent resurgence has been primarily down to him playing not just the influence and good form of VDV, Defoe and Adebayor.

If/When King or Parker get injured, you'll start leaking goals left, right and centre IMO.

If we can get either one of Anelka, Drogba or Torres to hit top form we'll get 3rd easily IMO. The midfield has been okay, but the strikers and defence haven't.

if Parker gets injured Sandro's just as good,King's place might be a problem as Dawson is injured, but when he's back his best position is right centre back, where King play's so leaking goals, i don't agree
