I agree Spurs will definitely get 3rd spot and are in pole position to do so... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/uefa_cup_tables/default.stm
I thought the 24k crowds roaring spurs on at the lane were spurs 12th man. Or the 900 up at st james park
Much as I hate to say it the Spuds are performing better than I've ever seen them since the early 60's. My big nightmare is that we are playing our worst football for 10 years, and I worry about how I will handle the wrong kind of result when we come together. I've discounted suicide, but at the very minimum I'll be kicking and screaming!
The win we got yesterday was absoulete perfect in my eyes, we got a hard-fought win where we grinded it out, kept a clean sheet, and played **** 1st half but came alive 2nd half instead of the other way round. This should kick start us now and we should go on a long winning run, if it doesn't and we go and lose to liverpool in 2 weeks then we are doomed but i can only see good times ahead, unfortunately for Torres though i think his got untill January to prove himself or his gone, i've always supported him and when he looked like he was coming back to form i was delighted and thought that would kick start his career with us but his gone back to his old self when he first joined - looking lost and unconformtable, and i'd bet serious money if he doesn't improve a great deal avb will move for hulk/pato in january and torres will be gone
Hopefully AVBs finally seen sense about our best back 4 aswell, Bosingwa may be faster but Ivanovic proved his got better crosses, better defensive skills and more power and a threat in set-plays
Agree Lcooper. Even with a misfiring torres we will be top 3; last season we went from fifth behind spurs and power shift pienaar to second when Torres was even worse. We are still miles ahead of spurs on and off the field. They choke at the business end of the season; we don't . Lamps is back on form, and mata and sturridge offer us something new. We'll get some performances out of drog and ess at the end of the season. Top 3 for sure with a title challenge: but I don't think we'll win it. I hope city do of not us but think united will. A carling or fa cup would be nice
Agreed on the defense front, this problem appeared under Caludio but always happens, you can chop and change all the rest of teh team as much as you want , but the defense needs to stay the same so that they can learn to work with each other. Constanly chaing right back and center pairings is not good for the team, I think only ash is the one constant and it has shwo in our record. Pick 4 and stick with em , the rest will have to wait for someone to get injured. You cannot win jack without a good defence period!
You're confusing us with Arsenal. We usually finish seasons strongly. It's the starts to season that we have been weakest on, in the past; but not this season. Take out our first two games (against United & City), and we are on title-winning form, not simply "top 4" form. They are all good players. Indeed, I am a long-term admirer of your squad, and believe that you have one of the strongest in Europe. However, you have the weakest manager of any top team in Europe. He is introducing "headless chicken" tactics into your play, and he will ultimately drag you down. That's the price the your Russian owner pays for having a puppet as a manager, instead of having the balls to employ someone who will, on occasion, tell him to butt out. May be you will, may be you won't. Who knows for sure? All any of us can do is judge you on how you are playing now, and it is not very convincing, is it? Wishful thinking is great. We all do it, so I won't criticise you for engaging in some of your own
HIAG, **** off you petulant arrogant ****er. I hope this cockyness comes back to bite you firmly in the arse.
A Spurs fan with a clear vendetta against the boss. As soon as Harry leaves you'll suffer . You have a very good squad, I hate to conceed but you also have a thin squad in terms of world class players. If we fix our defensive tactics and employ a decent creative minded midfielder, we'll be laughing. I believe if Spurs sustain injury to one of Parker, Modric, Bale or possibly even VDV/Adebayor then it'll be hard to maintain the form they are in.
TBF Spurs are playing well and could go above us with their game in hand. However last time I checked it's a 38 game season so perhaps a little early for Spurs to be getting carried away. I remember similar talk last Jan and look how that turned out. We came 2nd, they dropped out the C.L.
Lol we heard all this last year from the spurs fans. Then they ended up on channel 5 playing shamrock rovers. Wait till the fat lady sings you silly spurs .. shes not even in the theatre yet .
I agree gunner, exactly the same crap last season plus added crap this season with liverpool fans. The top 4 will again be City,United,Us and Arsenal come may, Spurs have a good team but they always go throgh a few sticky patches, not to mention when january comes all the talk will be about Modric which will unsettle the team again, and i don't even have to start with liverpool. Just face it yids your in a 6th place battle with liverpool, ( newcastle will be 5th )
Hardly a vendetta Merely my observations and opinions. This is a debating site, after all. That may well prove to be the case. Indeed, we were not at all convincing against Fulham this weekend, in Harry's absence. It is a worry for most Spurs fans who will succeed Harry. But he'll be leaving us in far better shape than when he found us, so I doubt we'll have too tough a time in getting in another top manager. We finished 4th two seasons ago without VDV and with Moddy out for most of that season. THudd was our most outstanding player that season. He's been out injured all of this season, so far. Us Spurs fans have absolutely no worries about our strength in depth. We current have about 5 top players out injured, and we've done fine so far. All clubs face injuries, it's part and parcel of the game.
Good attempt at a wind-up , but ultimately you're trying too hard, and it shows, my friend. Last season, we finished 5th, and that was despite the fact that all of our strikers were dreadful, netting less goals between them than Rooney scored by himself. We relied on our midfield players, particularly Bale and VDV to score the goals. The net result was that we drew far too many games. Had even one of our strikers been on form we would have easily finished above Arsenal, and possibly City, too. This season, Defoe has competition from Adebayor (as well as VDV), which seems to be getting him to show some interest, and he's already scored more than he did last season. The difference is clear to see, as we are now unbeaten in our last 8 EPL games, having won 7 and drawn 1. Only a fool, or truly embittered rivals would write us off for 4th.
