Villas Boas is Spurs' 12th man for 3rd spot

Discussion in 'Chelsea' started by Hoddle is a god, Nov 6, 2011.

  1. To be fair, though, I am not exactly getting "carried away," am I?

I'm merely posing the possibility that your manager will cost you a top 4 place.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that, should you continue to stutter, Villas Boas could be gone come the New Year.

If Avram Grant can get us to a champions league final AVB will get us top 4, it's his first season give him a chance and a break, were still top of our champions league group, in the quarters of the carling cup and 4th in the league, we haven't even had 10 games yet

I believe Spurs will make 5th and battle it out with Arsenal for 4th, I don't think you are anywhere near United, City or ourselves at the moment and I can assure you the majority of football fans will agree with that. This arrogance is only going to get you laughed at if it doesn't happen, I'm not denying it can't happen because anything's possible but you have purposely come on here to wind everyone up - it's clear with the title of your thread and therefore I'm dismissing your point straight away and not taking anything you have to say seriously.

Spurs were ahead of us in January and completely bottled it last season. We finished above them comfy.

They have peaked in autumn. Pool and arsenal will overtake them. Only a fool would even consider a club as weak as theirs for top 3.

Looking forward to 3 point lane on dec 22

Did I say that? You said '3 point lane' was laughable when that is what it was called for years because we took 3 points from your manky mob every time we travelled there.

Why have all these Spuds caught a huge boost?!

they seem to think that where they are NOW is = to where they will be at the end of the season .

Does that mean the newcastle fans are all getting ready for champions league football next season ?

Dont put any money on it Hoddle is a god .

sorry i cant say hoddle is a god without laughing , is it me ?

Spuds are playing better than I've seen them for donkeys years! However their position at the end of the season will hinge upon their results against the so called "Top 4", and thats where I think they will come apart. I know our record against them has been incredible since the late 80's/early 90's, but that is something that will have no bearing on our matches to come. I just happen to think that now we have come through a short term blip we will now start to steam roller our way forward and take 'arry's lot prisoners on the way!

  16. This season we've already beaten Arsenal at the Emirates, and absolutely demolished 'Pool <ok>

Did you see the way we took QPR apart? Chelsea struggled abysmally against them, and we made them look like clowns.

I know there are a couple of dismal WUMs posting on this thread (which is a pity, because my question was posed in all seriousness, as a neutral), so I taking many of the posted comments with a pinch of salt. We are look fantastic this season so far, and I am confident we will finish above both the Gooners and 'Pool. However, my question is, do you think it's possible (not likely, merely possible) that Villas Boas will cost you a top 4 place?

Frankly, I am glad you've got him as a manager, because I really do think he makes you weak. I have a very good friend who is a life-long Chelsea fan, and he agrees with me. He is extremely worried.

Hod--Dont get me wrong==you will probabli have your best season for years! But please do not underestimate AVB, He may be very young, but he has already an excellent record. He has won a Euro trophy(Harry hasnt)! He has worked with the Special One at Chelsea! Most importantly , he has the respect of the players , including the seniors and the owner!
He and we have not ruled out winning the PL, but anything less than 3rd is the minimum! If 3rd is what your ambition is, then I feel comfortable in saying you will remain behind us at the time it matters--in May!

Can't believe you said demolished 'pool <doh>. You struggled untill they lost two men and then expectantly beat them by a good few goals. You obviously didn't watch our game against QPR did you? We went down to 9 men and played our hearts out and should've won, just didn't take chances. I think it's funny how you don't include the two games where YOU were demolished <ok>.

Your intention was to wind people up, end of story. Don't try and deny that fact, the title of the thread says it all when you haven't finished above us for a LONG time.

    <applause>
