Got the demo as I haven't played it before, man i'm struggling. In my first game, against Reading, we were winning 3-1 in the 76th minute before a Kebe hattrick made it 4-3. I'm 14th atm, SDR broke his leg in the second game and i have so many other injuries too. Signed Jon Williams from Palarse and got Stephen Dobbie (who has scored consecutive hattricks). I guess I'm still getting used to it.
Got FM12 last Saturday, and I was done a season by Sunday evening. Came 6th, lost in the playoffs to West Ham. Lallana is immense, but everyone else is doing crap. Signed Sordell to partner Lambert, but neither are scoring and now Sordell is out for the season (December S2 right now). Stuck in 10th atm, very much in danger of losing my job.... Ah well. Today I have a Computing lecture, so the old FM will be coming out for an hour then
Bought FM a week ago after liking the demo. Got sacked from Southampton in April. I was in 10th, 2 points off a playoff place, and had signed Emnes, Hooiveld, Diego Arismendi (rubbish) and Proctor from PNE (top scored at time of sacking with 12 goals). Currently managing Wycombe in L2, got Craig ***an on a bosman and am currently 8th
Just about to play the play off final against Birmingham in my 2nd season. Finished 8th the year before but had a really bad run where i fell from top to just outside of the playoffs. Jay Rodriguaz has scored an astonishing 34 goals for me in the league and Lallana has notched up some 30 assists ! Also Billy Sharp scored 20 odd league goals for me this season aswell. I signed him after he scored 34 league goals for Donny the first season for a bargain £1.7 million
It really annoys me that we're in an apparent 'dire' financial situation. Its frustrating because i think we all know that we are deffinatly not in over £20million of debt. Also the board downgraded my youth facalities to save money and it had a knock on effect on the quality of players i had in my next youth intake (the best being 2 star potential other than 5 star the 1st season)
£1M finished 15th in 1st season, after a run of 10games in which i had to field youth due to fonte, lallana, richardson, reeves, holmes, guly, lambert, schneiderlina ll being injured, so bad run there bought zak whitbread, nathaniel clyne and billy sharp ready for the 2nd yr also got a 15yr old CB with a 5* potential
To anyone who's starting unemployed or managing a Conference North/South side - you can sign Pablo Counago I got him for Droylsden.
Absolutely destroying teams in the Prem at the moment, made some good signings but really all you have to do is set formation as 4-4-2 play fast football with short passing, with high fluidity. Simple but effective. Give it time to bed in though, and maybe make a 4-4-2 but more rigid and defensive for the harder games.
Can't help but feel this game is far too easy. I've always been good at Football Manager but I got promoted losing only four games (three of which after I already won the league, so was starting youth players) and I'm currently battling it out with the top 4 on my first season up. Looks like I'll have to abandon all hope of a good Southampton file and try something like the Pentagon.
The accounts for 2009/10 list that £20.4m figure. In any case it is listed in FM as a "non-repayable gift loan", so you don't pay it back.
Not particularly important in the AMC position. Advanced playmakers are all about the technical attributes.
Does anyone know what I can do about a save game that crashes on a certain date? Just got Crewe to League 1 on my unemployment challenge and it's crashing on July 25th 2015 It autosaved the day before as well. I think I remember it being possible to send save games to Sports Interactive and they will fix it and send it back, but I can't seem to find out how.
Not at all, mental attributes are the most important in the game, along with the hidden attributes, I've never seen Canales live up to his technical attributes on an FM save because he's mentally poor, like Balotelli (on fm)
Advanced playmaker (support) in AMC only really needs flair and creativity and he has those. His work rate could be a bit higher, but he doesn't need to move a lot so it's not that much of a problem, hence Le Tissier's success. I've seen him do extremely well without even having to leave Real Madrid, and sometimes even making it into the Spain team. Play a couple of hard-working MCs behind him for best effect in a 4-2-3-1. He's a very European style of player though, so not sure how he'd do in the Prem.
