Jared O’Mara is a pretty tiny fish in the grand scheme of things, a short-lived MP over three years ago, but he’s rightly paid for what he’s done. Four years seems like a lot though in the context of what politicians continue to get away with.

Whereas Lee Anderson has been propelled into a high profile position specifically to appeal to the permanent victims that are people like you. The bloke embarrasses himself and his Party on an almost daily basis.

Ah, right, so O'Mara gets 4 years for fraud while a Labour Member of Parliament, but hey, that's no big deal. Whereas Anderson has no criminal conviction but you think he's an embarrassment for plain speaking so it's worse. That's comic.

I’m glad he’s gone down and it’s not that big a deal. I won’t hold my breath but hope all the Tories who have pillaged our money over the last few years on a far bigger scale meet a similar fate.

Lee Anderson is an embarrassment. Not a criminal but completely unfit for his position, such is the dearth of talent and desperation to cling on to the vote of the sort of ****s who think immigration is in the top two issues for the government.

Illegal immigration. You're a No Borders extremist, we've established that. So anything other than totally open UK borders to the whole world is fascist to you. You're entitled to your view but don't pretend anyone but a tiny, rabid minority think like you.

You’ve repeated this enough times and it’s still not true.

I wouldn’t say anyone who thinks illegal immigration is in the top two is necessarily a fascist but they are either very blind to other issues or just very, very thick and brainwashed by decades of right wing media.

Might be jumping the gun there.

"Conservative MP Lee Anderson is being sued for libel after making comments about a man who runs a food bank in his constituency."

But this goes to the point I was making. Anderson hasn't been sued, he's had a letter from the man's lawyers demanding that he cease making alllegations of bribery and apologises. If this is not forthcoming, the lawyers say the man MAY bring a lawsuit in defamation. Anderson is consulting his own lawyers. I don't believe he would have made the comments without there being some irregularities in the man's dealings, and if this is the case, the man would be an idiot to exascerbate the situation by suing Anderson. Better to let it quietly die down.

A small price to pay for all the sovereignty.

The article is full of “suggestions” and “opinions”…….and just ‘cos one rich bloke “suggests” something…..it doesn’t actually make it a fact
But if it gives you flag shaggers something to crow about, I’d “suggest” it’s done it’s bit

You could be right. Brexit could prove to be an economic masterstroke. Some day. I suppose all the Brexit promises might eventually come true if we wait long enough and wish for it hard enough.

So you agree that the article is just a load of one mans opinions put up for the Euro flag shaggers to post on forums such as this to say “I told you so” ?
I mean, anyone linked to the BofE must surely be correct about everything, eh ?

At least we’re getting somewhere

As I said, you might be right. Logically and based on every piece of evidence so far you aren’t but that’s not to say we won’t all be considerably better off for Brexit some day in every conceivable way. We probably won’t be, obviously, but we can pretend we might be.

Get rid of the Tories and I would like to hope the benefits will start to appear

From the OBR (i.e. the government's own figures)...

Our trade forecast reflects our assumption that Brexit will result in the UK’s trade intensity being 15% lower in the long run than if the UK had remained in the EU.

The latest evidence suggests that Brexit has had a significant adverse impact on UK trade, via reducing both overall trade volumes and the number of trading relationships between UK and EU firms.

Not 'one man's opinions', the Office for Budget Responsibility.

So again, a forecast and an assumption ? When was that report you quoted actually published ?
Are we now saying that all forecasts should now be treated as fact ?

Fact, not forecast.

Sorry to be pedantic Strolls but when you state “suggests”...then surely that isn’t a statement of fact at all...

Current form would suggest that QPR will be relegated........but that doesn’t mean we will be relegated......Therefore it’s not a statement of fact
