don't thinks so as aren't they codeine & paracetamol

I remember when my mrs was in hospital they gave both because one didn't affect the other? It's been a while and I may have it mixed up with something else as she was on morphine as well.
 
You are correct. Paracetamol is 500mg, Co-codamol prescribed will be 10/500mg.

It's not the dose amounts but I mean they're unrelated. Like you can take ibuprofen and paracetamol without one affecting the other.
 
Yeh that's what I wasn't sure about. Like I said earlier I remember it being given with other painkillers but it must've been something other than paracetamol.

You can get co-codamol and co-dyramol, both those I know contain paracetamol, but other than that don't know. I've taken paracetamol with coxib, but expect my doc would have a fit lol.

Why is that dangerous? Seems like something I'd do if I had toothache tbh.

It was years ago so I can't remember. I vaguely remember it's something to do with entering more readily into the bloodstream but I can't recall exactly.
