You are correct. Paracetamol is 500mg, Co-codamol prescribed will be 10/500mg.

I remember when my mrs was in hospital they gave both because one didn't affect the other? It's been a while and I may have it mixed up with something else as she was on morphine as well.

It's not the dose amounts but I mean they're unrelated. Like you can take ibuprofen and paracetamol without one affecting the other.

Yeh that's what I wasn't sure about. Like I said earlier I remember it being given with other painkillers but it must've been something other than paracetamol.

I remember once when I had serious toothache, I stuck a paracetamol next to the gum and let it dissolve. It killed the pain for good. Later found out that's a pretty fckin dangerous thing to do <laugh>

You can get co-codamol and co-dyramol, both those I know contain paracetamol, but other than that don't know. I've taken paracetamol with coxib, but expect my doc would have a fit lol.

Why is that dangerous? Seems like something I'd do if I had toothache tbh.

It was years ago so I can't remember. I vaguely remember it's something to do with entering more readily into the bloodstream but I can't recall exactly.

I'd guess like Trebs said, something to do with putting it directly in the blood stream.

I really don't like toothache though might give it a go if needed.

It's not the best place to take advice from but it's a pain going to the docs for stuff. <laugh>

    It works :bandit:

I did adapt it once after. Just got the soluble ones and swirled it round the mouth for a few minutes. Not as good but ok for a while.

Think @luvgonzo normally opens it up with a cheery “Morning”. Can be any time before about 11am UK time depending on whether he has to annoy punters with unsolicited phone calls first.
