No, it hasn't. What's happened is the door now opening to well run clubs to compete, such as Brighton and Brentford. The days of money being the be all and end all are coming to an end. City first, then they will clamp down on whatever the **** Chelsea are doing, then they will move on to protecting younger players and the loan market abuse.

Newcastle are in a wildly good position because not only do they have backing but they have the people, the plan, the fans, the history and the reputation. Please remember, whilst it cannot count towards FFP, the owners can chuck what they want at it as long as we don't then fall into a financial deficit. That means training facilities, new stadiums, and so on can be funded with investment and it doesn't touch FFP. What City did was fast-track it, because they were a tin pot club recently in League One with next to nothing going for it. For all Ashley was horrendous, what he left was a club with a very clean balance sheet to build from. City didn't have that - they were over-spending in League One and the Championship, carrying debt then went on a ludicrous spending spree to get success quick. Their numbers today, whilst inflated, aren't unreasonable - it's their path to get there that is fraught with corruption. Newcastle United don't have many of these issues.

We're ahead of our plan. But haven't overspent or cooked the books to do it. They just got a little lucky with Eddie Howe and some incredible purchases. There will be bumps, though Gordon doesn't look like being one of them. So, yeah, we are we should be - top 4. And we've not even really started yet.

Oh it has because it can't be done like it used... nobody has done it since.

I recall villa and Everton fans telling Newcastle fans this takeover will join the long list of owners thst have failed so far to fulfill what it promised and desires.

Strange because I can remember them saying it would never happen but not that the owners would fail. Is this one of those 99% of statistics are made up type facts?

I'll simplify it for you because you're very sensitive.

which billionaire takeover had succeeded in breaking up the top 6 since ffp came in?

City were the last club that did it then ffp came in

Leicester are now ****ed... they can't sustain it because of ffp... having the odd flash in the pan isn't the same

Ffp is an obstacle

What happened to "let's just enjoy the good times". Things are good for the club, now and most likely in the foreseeable future.

Always remember, it could be a lot worse, we could be Mackems.

Nobody said not too, but I'm pointing out a few home truths.

I would make a case that the people using mental gymnastics aren't happy with just a club that tries afterall.

Ffp has so far been a very effective obstacle and unfortunately newcastle won't be any different..... they're the next group to try and break into something nobody has managed to since its creation.

Hopefully they succeed.

Strange you would respond that way as opposed to that you did hear them say that.

And as ScotMag said, Man City. Also Leicester City but they haven’t sustained it. Oh, and Newcastle United. Currently broken in to the top 6 and in a Cup Final for the first time this century.

I probably am ‘very sensitive’ but that’s what dealing with facts does to you.

So, these Everton and Villa fans…..<whistle>

I'm perfectly happy with what we have right now. IF we can further disrupt the big boys then it's all just a big bonus to me, and makes for a good laugh at those crying about us ruining their little clique.

Of course I WANT silverware and success, every fan does, but in terms of my expectations, things are bloody fantastic right now.

Man City bought 2008

Ffp ? 2011

What's prevented Leicester from staying up there despite a miracle?? Ffp.

Why are you going on about what you're happy with ?

I've got to know <laugh>

Right so now we've established many city we're bought before ffp and Leicester are not a top 6 club can we move on.

I know people don't like being wrong, but hey it's OK.

Guess who was a big player behind ffp coming ?

Another fact for you Mike Ashley

Why ? He was happy with the order and worried about losing his position.

What I actually said was something very different.

Obviously you're too simple to recognise it .

I would make a case that the people using mental gymnastics aren't happy with just a club that tries afterall.

So how does me l saying I'm happy with habing a club that tries make me simple?

I think the only 'mental gymnastics' are in going on in your head. <laugh>

I never said you were using mental gymnastics unless your name is 'the people using mental gymnastics '

My name change is seeing a large number of tears .. not helping me that's for sure ..
