I read somewhere that most political parties, in the modern era, have a primary ambition of keeping the opposition out of power. I have a sense that in a largely 2 party system that is probably true, sadly. Maybe in that sense conservatives judge that as their baromoter of success?Over the past week I've started compiling a list of all the things that have improved in the last 12 years:

Has anything improved? Triple Lock? Education outcomes? Our global reputation as a result of our stance on Ukraine? There will be others but they wont be enough to save this government. The irony, for me anyway, is they might have been able to ride to another victory had they not self destructed.
A barrel of whisky has certainly improved over 12 years, which is small solace.
