Over the past week I've started compiling a list of all the things that have improved in the last 12 years:

1 Errr ...

I read somewhere that most political parties, in the modern era, have a primary ambition of keeping the opposition out of power. I have a sense that in a largely 2 party system that is probably true, sadly. Maybe in that sense conservatives judge that as their baromoter of success?

Has anything improved? Triple Lock? Education outcomes? Our global reputation as a result of our stance on Ukraine? There will be others but they wont be enough to save this government. The irony, for me anyway, is they might have been able to ride to another victory had they not self destructed.

A barrel of whisky has certainly improved over 12 years, which is small solace.

Not only is 12 year old whisky a very nice tipple. If you were fortunate to buy some as an asset 12 years ago, its more than likely you will have earned a very good return.

The years of austerity were no good if you were a working person, especially nurses teachers etc ie public employees. As your wages in real terms have seriously declined

However if you had assets, houses, land, stock/shares... whisky, art etc, then in real terms you are better off.

Hence the gap between the haves and have not, has widened.

Triple lock is good and stops pensioners suffering too much and not being able to heat their homes.

Teachers are striking for the first time in years though, so not all good.

I'm not sure how much our Ukraine position has helped although it probably boosts our arms sales to Saudi Arabia, etc.

In truth I don't think any of the current Government thinks they've been a success, i doubt many other people do.

But you've mentioned whisky now so my mind's wandering <laugh>

They haven’t got a hope of being anywhere near the next government.

This is what some of you (well nearly 50% if polls are to be believed) will be voting for in 2024. Really ? Think again, please.

Come on then Gordon , I asked before and I’ll ask again who do I vote for, because I’m certainly not voting for that shower of s hit that’s in at the minute?

Make ya own mind up, mate?

It’s a bit tough over here we have the three main parties only and they are all
s hit.
I really want to vote Lib Dem. I vote for them in the locals and they're great.

They're still crying on about rejoining the EU, though. So, I cant.

I'll probably just vote independent or one of the stupid parties.
