The midfielder Ndayishimiye we missed out on in the summer for a few million is now going to Nice for €16 million…ouch
Do you think Pelkas will be good for this team , personally I think he’s got quality if a little lightweight, but in his position it may not matter ?
Yeah, I said as much that he’d be well out of our price range by January. We could’ve gotten him for about £4 million in the summer and he would’ve made our midfield so much more balanced. Oh well.
It’s not like we didn’t try, he wanted a lot of money and we couldn’t afford it with Seri and Tufan as well, so we moved for Woods instead.
Yeah, I remember you saying. Still, it shows how flawed our summer transfer policy was that we went from looking at a ball-winning CDM who’s built like a brick ****house and is actually really good on the ball as well, to Ryan Woods. We needed a like-for-like upgrade on Smallwood. Ndayishimiye or someone of that ilk would’ve been the player; Woods wasn’t.
Why do people on this forum gleefully misinterpret others’ posts? I haven’t once said Smallwood was anywhere near the same level as Ndayishimiye. Smallwood was pretty much our only ball-winning CDM. He left, and we never replaced him with a better player in that role.
Apparently in for Thierry Ambrose from Oostende, according to Belgian papers. Was on the books at Man City. 5 goals in 30 apps.
