On a different tack first half they snuffed Christie out knew he was a threat.Coyle and him improved a bit but got shoved off it. And had to turn and play back a fair bit .
Our delivery into the box was dire for us but dangerous if they did the same to us. Sorry to say when Jones plays at the back we are weaker or appear disorganised , but he’s not a bd player .

I thought there was a problem with Coyle and Christie being too close and going into the same space at first.
    Maybe understandable

People keep saying this, but our control of midfield is good. It's creativity and a bit of guile we lack. A Smallwood type isn't going to help us be more clinical with the final ball and finish, which is what we actually need to change.

Person keeps saying it, to be fair. One person.

The idea that our midfield is woefully deficient is laughable just now. It might be short on quality, we are a lower half Championship side so that’s inevitable, but we close down sides pretty well right now. We shepherd and nudge and block, we don’t rely on thunderous crash tackles.

Currently Seri and Doc are both sitting deep to make up for the fact we don’t have a defensive midfielder whose dedicated role that is. It does affect how we play.

Apologies if already posted. From this clip it looks like McBurnie should have been off too - elbow and initial head to face. Of course Tetteh shouldn't have responded like that, but McBurnie should have been off too. Once again we get shafted.

Don’t get how Robinson didn’t get booked for throwing Connolly to the ground. It wasn’t even two players tussling; he just grabbed him and chucked him to the ground.

If we played 4-3-3, with three central players (which would put a lot of pressure on the two wide men), I think it might alleviate some of the issues. If Christie is deployed as a RW, then you've got that natural defensive cover dropping in. On the other side you could have Connolly/Ebiowei as more of a direct attacking threat with Oscar through the middle. But then, I feel like we tried that with Grant and got done over too often because our full backs were exposed.

Plus Christie looks lost playing further forward. He wants to be a high energy full back, and he’s the best we’ve got in that position.

Ollie McBurnie & Tetteh pretended to slap each other and feigned 'nutting' each other which looked the most violent action of the day.
Does that put you off going?
    Maybe tennis is your thing.

Thought we played really well against a much more settled team in a far loftier position. Glad I didn't come on to read some of this last night though. We've had that many players scapegoated over the course of half a season it's as if none of them were good enough to pull on the shirt last night.

This thread has had pops at Coyle, Jones, Mac, Slater, Doc, Tufan, Longman, Connolly, Oscar and Christie and I don't think any of them played particularly badly. It was a solid effort against a team that showed why they're so far above us. We still suffer these moments however where we switch off and it costs us. They're getting fewer but we're clearly playing miles better as time goes on and there are so many points left up for grabs.

True, we've stopped shipping goals, I think everyone likes how we're playing. We aren't scoring. Latest news, we're looking at bringing in Newcastle's redundant Goalkeeper.

When you look at the stats for the season they really make for grim reading too for Slater.

Doch, Woods, Tufan & Seri have all made more tackles per 90, interceptions they all make more per game apart from Woods, passes they all make more, and key passes they all make more.

The one thing he does well is keeping the ball, and he doesn't lose it often. He doesn't do much with it on the whole mind either.

Is it the one where there’s a smoke device going off on the road, he picks it up presumably to move it, tosses it away but by then a car has arrived and it lands on the bonnet. He realises, possibly mid throw to be fair, and admittedly doesn’t remove as he should have done, but two City fans behind him do remove it from the car.?
    That video?
