Ismael now coming up the rails.

Don't know where you're getting that from unless it's the connections between him, Whitehead and Northeast.

He's still the manager at Besiktas as far as I know and not currenty even in the betting.

Must say though, I do like the bloke - someone who can kick ass and plays the modern game.

His contract ends this summer.

Warnock to save us and leave in the summer.

2/3rds of Ismael's team already here. He joins them.

Not sure where that leaves Manning?

Someone's putting 2 and 2 together and getting 25............<laugh>

Pretty tenuous connections but a possibility - that would explain why he's not even in the betting for NEXT permanent manager. <ok>

I don't shop there so I don't have a view.

As far as our next manager is concerned, it's the usual nonsense of journalists and others pretending to be in the know.

I'm certainly not in the know Clingo but you must admit it's a good yarn to weave. <whistle>

A bit of speculation can't hurt. Ask Sparkey.

However the bloke who sits behind me in the Ninian Stand seems to know everything (which rarely turns out) so, if nothing confirmed by then, I will get his take and report back. :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

The best sources for those in the know are actually the bookies - they know a lot more than we do otherwise they wouldn't be in business.

They rarely offer decent odds for likely appointees so you should follow the betting movements for the eventual winner.

Wasn't the Palace game the infamous "ghost goal" game where they scored a perfectly good goal but as it rebounded off the back stanchion and bounced out it wasn't awarded and all your players decided that "sportsmanship" didn't have any part to play in football??? <whistle>
Sort of - you are 85% correct.
Freddie Sears ‘scored’ - the ball entered the goal, hit the back strut, and rebounded out into play.
the referee blew his whistle.
Everyone thought it was a goal - all fans, all players, both managers - but the referee and his assistant had other ideas.
Nobody ever found out why the goal wasn’t given. The ref awarded a free kick to us in the box (I think - NOT a goal kick) so presumably he saw a foul take place before the ‘goal’ went in (??) If he mistook the incident for the ball missing the goal completely and hitting something behind the goal then he would have awarded a goal kick (maybe it was a GK - I can’t remember to be honest and some reports say it was) Equally, if he thought it had hit the post he would have waved play-on.
Our players started trudging back to their starting positions when the free kick was given. Their body language and reaction showed that they thought we had conceded.

Of course, when a free kick was awarded we played on gratefully. Who wouldn’t?
We got LOADS of stick from the Palarse fans (and fans of other clubs who traditionally don’t like us) about ‘cheating’ but it was the referee’s decision, not cheating by anyone.
The referee’s match report remains confidential to this day. Neither us nor Palarse could access it, so we will never know why the free kick was given instead of the goal. Only the ref, the Lino and their employers know.
