I agree. My original thread. Saves starting a new one for each change. Continuity - unlike our managers.
In fact, I'll make it a sticky again until we get a new manager. How long will it be up there in the stickies is the question.
Just watched EFL highlights programme. Those 2 pundits are clueless suggesting the sacking after a string of draws and narrow defeats was questionable.
The only thing that was questionable was his permanent appointment in the first place. Despite the flak that Dalman and Choo get (rightly on most occasions) there is only one man making these decisions and that's Tan. Getting to the point that the only way things will change is if he sells up to someone who will appoint the right footballing brains to run the club on their behalf. Despite his considerable investment in the club, an absetee owner who call the shots from 6000 miles away is doing us no favours.
At this stage I suppose survival is the name of the game hence the swing to Colin. Possibly on a contract to the end of the season. However as the list posted yesterday showed there are many potential managers out there who could bring a more refreshing style of football to the club. However are the current squad capable of adapting to that? I have expressed my reservations on that before. So do we want a manager to ensure we stay up and go again next season? Or do we risk a more expansive style which, if it doesn't work, sees us in Div 1 next season? Possibly with yet another managerial change. The continued umbongo restrictions only muddy the waters further.
There seems to be an assumption going around that only appointing Warnock would guarantee we stay up and anyone else would be a risk. Disagree, there's enough ability amongst the existing squad to stay out of the bottom 3 if properly managed and organised - Hudson was a rookie and we've paid the price. There are candidates out there who could do that if Tan was seriously prepared to back them. The problem would be would they take it on given the club's recent track record with managers and possibly jeopardise their CV's in the game? Warnock on the other hand has nothing to lose. A failure at 74 years of age would be like water off a duck's back to him and he'd return to Talksport and the like for his entertainment value and we'd be left in the ****. Is there anyone in the decision making hierachy at the club prepared to stand up and be heard on the subject or is Tan beyond advice?
Mark Hughes Masky is hearing! Clingon to work under him....o offence to Mark Hughes....is what it is!
There is no easy answer to this but in the 11 years Tan has been in charge we have gone through an average of 1 manager a year. I'd love to see a manager stay 6 years just like Dave Jones.
I put this on the wrong thread https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-warnock-rescue-short-term-25982177
Never mind colin, lets look at the other end of the spectrum. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64275670
Sadly not no.... Hopefully this time around we see some real change and the club/board realise they really do need some help. I wonder if our 2 trips to the Premier League have made VT & Co believe in their own judgements a little too much...
I thought when we brought Colin in 1st time it was a master stroke. This time it would be the biggest mistake ever.
