Warnock odds on. https://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/cardiff/next-permanent-manager
Noooooooo.... Even if he was to come in and keep us up it still shows no longer term thinking... At some point we MUST start building for the future. Looking at a list of our managers for the last 20 years, only the ones that have been with us for circa 3 years or more have actually achieved any kind of true success (unless you count McCarthy getting us to the play-offs as success).
Hope this is just Glen doing his daily job of writing something about the issue. Surely City wouldn’t promote from within again; if so Purse might as well apply https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/coaching-credentials-dean-whitehead-second-25988612
Just a thought. When Morison went and before Hudson was appointed, Warnock went public very quickly to say he didn't want the job. It all seems very quiet in his corner at the moment...... I will just leave it there. I've not seen him in Tesco Bridgend, I used to see him there regularly. But I have been away for the last week.
So we can't buy - just loan or free/unattached players. We won't pay compensation to another club for their manager or employee. It doesn't give us much to play with really. However, i wouldn't be surprised to see Dean Smith come here and employ a system of playing that we do badly need. Perhaps he could convince an aged goal scorer to tag along with him too
Warnock odds on and shortening again this morning. He's now 1/2 for the job with everyone else drifting (a bit like us as a club!)
Word out there is City are keen on ex MK Dons manager Liam Manning - they see him as the next Eddie Howe. EDIT - BetVictor have slashed Manning's odds from 12/1 to 5/2 - that is some jump!
He even looks like Howe! I like what I read about Manning's style but I also have two reservations: 1. He got sacked from a club in a similar position to us in a lower league. 2. He's considering Cardiff City as his next job. An unambitious sycophant?
As always, good points well made. However, he didn't have to work for our board. It'll be what it will be and while I wish the new incumbent well, whoever it is, I am resigned to either having good managers that aren't allowed to manage or just poor managers under the current ownership regime.
According to Wiki his teams adopt a high possession, high pressing style. Just got yo stop our guys giving the ball away so easily and get fitter then.
Skybet has just followed suit. Dropped Manning's price from 12/1 to 8/1 at 12.15 and then again to 9/2 at 12.25.
