We've done OK recruiting out of non-league in the past. We're doing it out of academies now and loaning em out to non league or lower leagues and its starting to look like a feasible strategy now also.
Not so mystery backer confirmed? “ I was very happy that our country's pride Murat Ulker with his worldwide success in business world came to the Hull City match. Hopefully we as Hull City will be able to achieve these great achievements and celebrate together. “
He loves this kind of spin doesn't he. Makes me think back to when he told The Survivor finalists that the City game he was taking them to was going to have 26,000 fans there and then the club put it on their YouTube with English subtitles, before taking it down and republishing the next day with that bit cut out. The polar opposite to Ehab and his "why would anyone want to buy a club that isn't near London"...
So does mean he was more than just a guest?? The achieving together reads to me as he is formally involved in the ownership ….
It's more funding via the back door ( his media company ) so I'm being told, but I've absolutely no idea on how true and or possible that is re league rules etc...
Still skeptical about this. It'd make no difference if he was an official or unofficial investor, we still can't spend more than the club makes, so there's no motivation to be subtle about it. If he was an official owner he could invest as much equity into the club as he wanted and it would get around FFP rules so even less motivation to not be official about it.
everyone was saying about Simms not been good enough because he went to Buxton. Goal scorer is a goal scorer wherever they play.
If it was that easy, then why the complex workarounds whereby owners buy their clubs stadia at inflated prices to circumvent ffp. Why wouldn't they just 'invest more equity' instead if its a simple, legal route to the same outcome...?
