It will most likely be none of the above. The press are usually wrong about 80% of the time (and even the 20% is often only reported once things are actually moving on a deal, so not as as if they are the first to be 'in the know'). But still, it helps them to sell newspapers & online subscriptions, so all good.
I can’t see any major signings this month. If Bruno’s injury was quite serious I would have expected a CM. I think they go with what we have. The squad isn’t deep but Shelvey is back in 6 weeks.

The "rumour mill" and in particular Newsnow is as bad as I've ever seen, I've completely given up. "Toon chasing explosive La Liga forward" - yep, another bullshit Depay story. It's so full of desperados trying to get clicks none of it is even remotely news. Not just our club either, it's a hot mess of made up bollocks or weeks-old stuff that originates from Twitter or, worse, here. Based on how we operated last Summer, I'm 99% confident we are interested in a very small shortlist of talent - Maddison and Diaby - for the first team, along with a number of other emerging talents none of us have heard of (Fresneda or Perrone, for example). There was a brief link to Isak about a month before he signed. Botman was similar. Bruno was more like a day before. On that basis, the persistent chat about Fresneda looks like it's agreed. I think Maddison is now down to who will blink first and financial terms. Then it's about how many more Kuol's we can sign.

I've heard it from 2 lads last night (brothers TBF) that are OT ST holders. One of them works for the club as a part of the conditioning team. Option fee he mentioned was £28m... Hope to the Lord that this is not happening, but it's an unusual thing for me to hear.
