The only reason Connolly could be coming here is an interest from Rosie. What he sees in him I do not know. Very very briefly shone for RoI and Brighton and then it all went to his head - has been dropped by both and has made zero impact at loan clubs to date. A really odd signing if it happens.

Maybe he feels he can get that out of him again? The fact he wants him is the good thing we should take from this. And if Ros was a big part in helping him make strides into the senior game maybe he feels he can help him be more successful in it too.

Rosenior talking about Connoly here from his time as Brighton U23 coach. Can see why he wants him

Maybe the RoI Head Honchos will grace us with a visit to see if he has improved his form and go back instead with a surprisingly good impression of a defender they never heard of, some guy called Seán McLoughlin:emoticon-0100-smile

Might be a long shot but I still think we need some physicality in midfield and Frank Onyeka at Brentford could fit the bill. They were willing to loan him to Boro in the summer until they had some injuries in midfield so they pulled the plug on it.

Doc does provide it in abundance just his technical frailties sometimes don’t help in this system. Would defo make it first priority in summer if it’s not addressed. Albeit if Tufan + Sinik go I think we may see it sooner. Hopefully all Chelsea players go back, Williams, Scott, Emmanuel can all get moves then we are looking good financially too

If Tufan and Sinik leave then surely we will keep Vale and Simons as replacements?

We're strengthening wide areas anyway with the known incoming targets.

I recall in the summer people saying how easy it is to make money on transfers by buying lots of these guys cheap and then selling them on for profit, and that's how we'd become a self-sustaining club as we bought cheap and sold expensive. As some of us questioned at the time, all it takes is for a few not to work and that plan falls apart. I would hope we'd be able to recoup some of what we spent on Sinik and Tufan but both would probably go at a loss.

No, as any sale would mean that the entire cost of their transfer fee would be expensed in this year. You can't still have contracts amortising on your books for players you sold years ago. So if we break even we just break even.

Didn't Acun's buys have %50 sell on clauses?

    Thought Sinik did too.

Tufan was only 2m up front though from memory, with 2m add-on if we go up. Not sure on how much we've spent on his wages though if people want to get granular on the concept of breaking even on him.
