How much Boro paid for Assombalonga 6 years ago (pre-COVID and with parachute payments) has absolutely zero bearing to how much they're likely to be willing to pay for Stewart.
According to information provided from England Williams Alarcón (22|), Union La Calera midfielder would be being watched by the Sunderland AFC
At what point do we need to trigger the extension to current deal to stop him talking to foreign clubs and agreeing a deal e.g. Rangers?
I wonder where £10million comes from given fees for Watkins, Toney & Armstrong. I personally think £10million is below the lads worth and we’d be daft to take it. He will play PL, I have no doubt.
yes but if we try for £20m now and nobody bites, then in the summer clubs MIGHT not be willing to bid as much. I do think there’s a chance that his value still goes up between now and the summer tho, even if he doesn’t sign. The summer might be the time to “cash in” even if the seemingly sensible thing to do would be to cash in now. this is all of course assuming he doesn’t sign a new contract. I still hope he does. A Ross Stewart with a 4 year contract and we are talking £20m+
4th in the league , i think we need to go all out tie Stewart down , have a good window and go for promotion. Imagine where we would be without the key injuries .
I’m totally not arsed I reakon he signs anyway I mean if he doesn’t see that he’s in a good environment to shine and be adored there’s something wrong with the bloke. Seems like he loves it here the whole team seem like they all get on well so can’t personally see why he’d want away.
It’s now a matter of hoping one of the top two crack, let’s hope they have some ex mags playing for them
