I think we learned a bit last night, that might inform any incomings in Jan. Michut looked good in that deep role. I could see him deputising from time to time happily. Matete I hope has given Mowbray a nudge that he could be useful second half of season too. Maybe we can trust to Evans, Neil and those two whereas I had thought we may need to dip into the market in that position. Hume looks a very good player to me. No need to do anything at right back. Ba gives us another option higher up the pitch. Where does that leave us? A striker obviously still needed. A left back as well for me. I still would like to see us with 3 keepers. That puts us in quite a luxury position. No rushing about, tweaking rather than solving. Obviously outgoings would change the picture but I wonder, perhaps naievely, if we have a Jan budget set aside we dont need so much of it and we can do a bit on a couple of key contracts...

Totally agree with this. I'm not Evans biggest fan but I see the value he brings, we generally do better when he's playing than when he's not. If there is a chance to upgrade I'd personally do it, but the urgency, particularly in Jan, is not there anymore, for me. I think michut was really good yesterday and should get his share of starts for the rest of the season. We defo need 3 natural strikers. Won't be an easy task, because they'd have to come knowing they're an option not a starter. Hume will end up first choice somewhere along the line, he's really good. Another keeper probs a luxury but if you can get someone in with some pedigree who is happy with the situation, why not.

He's spent the last six years at Norwich or in the North ...

... so obviously hasn't previously been a big issue.

Why move from Huddersfield to go as far north as he could possibly go if she's so against it.

He'll be retiring in a few years in any case.

If players want to leave that's their problem imo, Pritchard isn't PL standard and has a limited amount of southern clubs he can go to ....

... Luton, Watford, Millwall, QPR and Reading.

Que sera tbh.
I was told Watford mate but that was in October

Going to be an interesting window. I know it's only 1 game, but if the levels are kept up then we have Ba, Michut and Metete pushing for a place, Evans rested last night. So Neil, Evans, Michut and Matete as CM's

Hume looked decent again and Huggins being eased back in so that's right back covered along with Gooch.

Then Alese and Cirkin as left back, don't need another there, Clarke can also do a job as left wing back.

Centre Half's, Ballard, 09, Baath, Bailey Wright then Alese and Cirkin can also play there,

Roberts, Amad, Pritchard, Ba.

Stewart, Simms - needs another, especially if we go 2 up top.

Then you have Bennette, Dajaku

I'd like to see a third keeper and if rumours of Pritchard are correct he will need replacing, but apart from that id rather see more game time for the lads above than bringing in bodies for some to go on loan

I think Pritch is great but if him going would free up the wages to keep Stewart I’d drive him myself.

Pritch is brilliant but he is replaceable, even if not like for like.

I agree. He's a great player, but he's very replaceable for us, given his age. If I was a member of his immediate family I'd be telling him to move, his stock is high and this is likely to be his last big move, he needs to make it count from a money perspective.

I would keep pritchard till the end of the season, i do think we can sign better further dwn the line. However, this season he is so important to us on n off the pitch.

January is huge, we need a couple of quality additions imo. Last january was one of the best windows weve had, Hume, Baath, Clarke and Roberts all coming in. Hopefully the same again this window and most importantly getting Stewart.tied down

I’d definitely keep him if I could, but if his wages free up more for Stewart it’s a no brainer for me, as good as he is

I would keep Pritch to the end of the season he adds a lot of football nouse to a young squad... we really need a DM to cover Evans and more height within the team we are always likely to get bullied at the moment.

I don't think we need any signings other than maybe a back up striker. We will always have injuries all over the pitch but when one gets injured another comes back...it's just what happens.
The one area we are vunerable is strikers as has been proven.
I know he's not popular at the minute but I think if we went in for Broadhead in January for a permanent deal we would get him. He suits our style perfectly and I know he bottled it in August but he would snap our hands off now. Just my opinion of course.

Broadhead isn't a long term plan though in my view - it would be signing a 3rd choice striker.

In the summer we'll lose Simms and likely Stewart too. I want someone (like we did with Stewart) who has half a season to ease into it, but will be stepping in to be first or at least 2nd choice striker next year. I'm not sure I'd ever see Broadhead being capable of that.

Honestly...as it is now, Broadhead would be a quality addition to the squad. He is perfect for us. I think Stewart will sign a new deal aswell.

He was excellent in L1 (when fit). There is nothing to suggest he could cut the mustard in The Championship

When you say "as it is now", do you mean he's a 3rd choice who you would be happy to come off the bench as an impact or play alongside Stewart sometimes? If so, I agree.

But that's not really how the club operates. We're planning 3 windows in advance and I don't think we invest in players to be back ups.

So the real questions are:

1) Does he get in the first XI at full strength?
2) Do you think he's capable of playing as a lone striker?
3) Do you think he's better than Simms?
4) If we kept Stewart, do you think Broadhead is capable of being 2nd striker at a club looking to be promoted from the Championship?
