They’ve got a chance because they’ve got Messi but not been overly impressed by Argentina so far.

That said, they’re in the last 8 so who knows

Should either be "I vow to thee my country" or the Dam Busters theme <ok>

Cannot be "Jerusalem" , as the "dark satanic mills"
have been off-shored to China, Bangladesh etc.

    < and that;s a good thing >

    1. It would be fun to hear England supporters sing the Archers
theme tune as they do the "Great escape" etc.

    2. As for "real England" ...

I saw a documentary years ago about Cold war submarine warfare.
In it a UK nuclear sub commander claimed the subs would come
up to radio comms Rx depth and tune into the Archers programme.

The rationale being that if it was not being broadcast,
something dire had happened to the UK

Unfortunately, England's national anthem should be this...

..."The lights clicked out in the bedsits
    Old England was all alone."

Tough choice this afternoon: do we want to see Szczesny looking despondent sat in the goalmouth after conceding yet another goal, or do we want to see Matty Cash getting left on his backside every single time Mbappe heads past him?

Poland looking competitive so far, although France have wasted opportunities when they get into space

Another great finish. 9 World Cup goals at just 23 is mad, and he probably ain’t done this tournament either.

Providing no injuries, could very well break or at least match Klose’s record of 16.

This tournament continues to be guided by individual performances rather than collective excellence.
    Will Kane continue that?

Scary to think he will be only 26 at the next World Cup too. He’s surely going to break all records for France

Well, I guess we'll see whether the 'Sterling interferes
with Kane scoring' thesis holds up today.
