Stones has given the ball away about 6 times so far. So sloppy. Zero creativity in midfield too, front three getting no service whatsoever. Southgate-ball in full effect.
Job done. Senegal without Mane was on paper an easy-ish game for us and it proved to be on the pitch. Saturday is where the real test is.
Listening to TalkShite after the match and they keep going on about Kane being off the mark and how important it would be. Can't help thinking they're way behind the time. Kane is a unique hybrid attacker/midfielder and his midfield work is really good. Plus he has often been criticised for not being good when they aren't passing him the ball! Thought he was brilliant tonight, with really good passing. They are lauding Bellingham of course, but I thought he overplayed it on occasion. Rather have him than not of course!
Obviously they haven't replaced the scriptwriters at talkBALLS, hence they keep referring to scripts from the 2017-18 season when "discussing" all things Spurs
Buzzing after tonight 3 clean sheets in a row. Most goals in the World Cup so far. Manager that keeps making the right decisions. I think we can beat the French too. I'd say that we are slightly the slightly better team but they do have Mbappe who is truly world class.
With 3 assists and a goal, there’s been nothing wrong with Kane in the tournament. Getting the ball to him in the final third has typically been an issue in this setup but when he has gotten it he’s done well. Do think Bellingham was robbed last night though of the MOTM award, he was fantastic, that was a truly dominant midfield performance from him. He’s an unbelievable talent and along with Foden, England have a very exciting future with those two to build around, not forgetting Saka too.
