Same here Vince, we were contracted out in 1978, before I joined the job. The problem is no one told me until I got qualified for my state pension in 2020

Having seen some of the goings on by the fan groups with all the fun & games on the message boards, twitter & Facebook then I could see a fan owned SAFC being unable to function as it got torn to pieces, with different groups suing one another!

Yes that was mentioned eg fans voting for who was in the team... not the manager.

Some teams in Germany seem to make it work 51% fans 49% investors?

Were you not offered a choice to opt in or was the decision taken by someone else.

There was breaks in the system to opt out and in which were advised when too opt in or out and did the company have pension advisors?

To be honest with you I took no notice of pensions when I was working because it all seemed that far away. I only read up about it when I retired and was told I couldn't get the full state pension despite having 44 years of stamps.
Apparently government employees on the classic pension scheme were contracted out in 1978 and contracted back in in 2016. I worked for them from 1982 until 2014 so all my service was contracted out.
Contracting out was apparently part of the conditions of the classic scheme, we had the opportunity to switch to a less favourable scheme on numerous occasions which I assume would have been contracted in, but we would have been mad to accept the switch

    Much the same as me
However I was forced to join super anuation as it was called 1976 I had no choice and did not know that I had opted out
Then in 1987 I transferred my pension years into final salary pension
I worked and paid into the system for 50 years and never new I had opted out
Then I was told I had not paid enough national insurance over the years I did not even know
Never mind that’s the way it was

I hope my council tax is reduced to £2000 a year. I don't live in a holiday area, just South Tyneside

Wrexham was 100% fan owned before the Holywood takeover.

Just yesterday I was listening to the club's official weekly podcast, Dragonheart (btw draig is welsh for dragon).

They were mentioning that there was a lot of friction within the Supporters Trust (some of it quite nasty) and they thought that after 10 years of trust ownership then the wheels would have come off if it hadn't been for the takeover

I don’t know if Greggs are doing anything to cater for vegetarians, but does selling steak bakes without any steak in them count ? I don’t use Greggs except for one of these a year, and have been used to 2 or 3 morsels of solid meat , but yesterday - none at all ! Just gravy slop . ( smaller in size , and 2/3rds just pastry - all the slop on one side— and they up it to £1:80)

Just to say I went to Les Miserables at the Empire last night. Superb show. The cast (apart from maybe one) and the sets were all mighty impressive. Well done the Empire for getting it here and Sunderland for having the big stage to show this epic musical.
