Don't know if anyone has already mentioned, apologies if I am repeating! Can't help feeling in view of the current situation at City and immediate priorities, one of the press conference questions yesterday to Liam was abrupt, appalling; "You're the first BAME manager for Hull City how do you feel about that?" To be fair to him, he answered really well, not something he had thought about, it was all about his ability and confidence to do the job. Personally, I don't care about the colour of our new Manager's skin, don't think any fan does, all we care about is he loves the club, his passion, self confidence in his own ability, and will give his heart and soul to it? Oh, and stop us shipping goals, obvs.

Have to say, I don't know if he was prepped beforehand with questions, but I was impressed how he presented himself, he was very polished, articulate, confident, clear in his communication. A huge asset if he can get his messages across speaks/acts to the players in this manner. I particularly liked his comments re. match on Saturday, he may not have much time to influence the squad before the Millwall game, but he knows what to expect from a Millwall team, it will give a measure of our mental ability. I know some are still divided in opinion of the appointment, I for one, truly wish him well, and am sure we will all get behind him willing him on to success. UTT.
It was a shocking and uncalled for question. Tan should have stepped in and asked what difference the colour of a persons skin made and then asked the reporter to leave the room.

Doesn't seem odd at all. The colour of a person's skin does not effect ability as a football manager. It's not even an issue. If a person is talented enough they would be employed if they had bright purple with green poka dots skin. Likewise a player, don't remember anyone bringing up this issue when Pele and the Brazilians were the best team in the world by a country mile.

I agree your skin colour does not define your character does sadly we don’t live in that World.

He admits to fighting at school and in the streets after being racially abused: "I went from scrapping in the street and at school to fighting in the boxing ring from the age of 12. I was called a few names due to the colour of my skin, but with a quick smack in the mouth they soon backed off"

He liked a scrap.Would have packed football in and taken up boxing full time but his dad wouldn’t let him as a lot of clubs were after him. Only time I saw anyone make an issue of his colour was when we played Barham Boys and an older brother of one of their players said a few things. I told him if he didn’t shut up I would smack him if he was lucky. He asked why he would be lucky. I told him he would be lucky it was me and not his dad smacking him. A bit later every time he got the ball I heard a voice saying “ get that n…..”. Couldn’t see who it was and kept wandering around. Eventually came across the culprit. It was Curtis’s brother laid behind all the kit bags.

I get the train of thought, but that would then have made it into a massive media issue. The opposite of what is needed.
Rosie answered it best with his first words .... "I never even thought about that .....". Maybe could have just left it there and moved on?

Hard to think it but Pele suffered racism in Brazil.

Only listened to the press conference in full this morning and I thought Liam Rosenier was very impressive. That one question was the low point and uncalled for because it is not an issue.

News to me. As a lad from a working class family living in North Hull I just saw Pele as an exceptional footballer, one I would like to aspire too, I don't recall anyone even noticing what colour his skin was. I certainly didn't.

Very encouraging conference before, the recruitment comments still leave me a little uneasy though (came across like he won't have much of a day). But I suppose it's just something we have to accept with the set up we have now.

I'm sure there'll be some kid inspired seeing rosenior managing
It's about seeing representation with identity

Same reason miles morales was popular in recent years

And patrick viera made a mention of it recently

It is my opinion. I just dont see why someone's skin colour should be an issue. It's ability alone that counts, or so should be.
Why is 'some kid being inspired' by seeing Rosenior as a manager any different from one seeing Andy Dawson in the same role, or Lewie Coyle captaining our club, Nicky Barmby playing for England, or Kean Lewis Potter playing in the Premier League?

I get it totally. I was a lad with an awful stammer. I know first-hand all about embarrassment. My grandson is disabled with a severe speech impediment, your skin colour isn't the only ticket you need to be a member of a minority group.

And i'm sure someone with a disability seeing someone with something similar reach a high position is inspiring
