Why should he play 40/50 year-old songs? He played his latest album plus 8 other great songs which fans would recognise. So 'even Burnsy' said it was plodding, is he the great oracle now?
I used to think Castro was the curmudgeon of the board, you're hard on his heels!

If I paid £100 to watch anyone, I also would not admit, even though quite a few people who went, it was boring, he was boring hiding behind a piano all night, zero interaction with the audience, and anyone who went who tells us they weren’t bothered about one of the greatest 60’s songwriters not singing some of the greatest songs ever written, is a deluded liar.
I agree he is a music icon, but a curmudgeon like Van Morrison, why do you think The Stones, Macca et al still attract 100k audiences and Dylan came to Hull?
They give the audience the hits which everyone wants to hear, I wonder if Dylan is using this tour to polish his newish album to see how it goes before embarking on a stadium tour where he will bin most of it.

Liked Van Morrison since first hearing Them singing Baby Please Don’t Go and Gloria. Still think Here Comes The Night is a great song. The Angry Young Them, Astral Weeks and Moondance are still three of my favourite albums. But the word curmudgeon sums him up perfectly. Another who thinks he doesn’t have to bother with any interaction with the audience.

Had chance to go to that, someone at work had a spare ticket, but didn’t go as I know someone who had been to a previous one that year said exactly what you did.
