How many managers were discussed? I assume Marsch but lots of the other strugglers have gone. Unless they are counting the temp ones in Wolves and Bournemouth
On oddschecker he is still second favorite at 6-1 but miles behind Marsch. The next is 12-1 in Rodgers and 14-1 in Frank. I wouldn't be surprised to see those numbers on Frank shrink depending on how the next few games go. But getting steamrollered by a Villa side that have been abject is not a good look. But I'd say both of those two are safe at their clubs. Rodgers seems too expensive to sack and Brentford probably think they won't do better than Frank Then you get 16-1 with Lampard, Cooper and Conte. Conte won't be next but it won't be surprising if he is not Spurs manager next season
Still not convinced that Ralph is out of the woods yet. They may still be searching for his replacement for all we know. I'm almost certain that they won't be making decisions on a game by game basis, or they shouldn't be anyway imo.
Just listened to TSP & they made an interesting comment that Ralph seems to have an ability that whenever he’s at / very near that last game position, he seems to be able to pull his get out of jail card out. Just wish he could buy a few (plenty?) more & use on a very regular basis.
I also think there's a section of fans who he'll never win over now. Not saying that's right but due to the dreadful run he's had, a 3/4 game run of improved results won't buy much time with some people if we revert to **** soon after. Especially given our record of doing so. Were we to lose to Palace & Toon then I don't see him in charge for boxing day (although I think we'll get something this weekend).
It will take more than a 3 game run of 1 win and 2 draws to turn it around. I don’t think owners take it game by game and think they started looking for a replacement a while ago. I think Ralph is going, bar an incredible run which might change their position.
By the World Cup it is going to be 15 league games and two cup ones. It will be looked at on that level not game by game. We obviously need to be cautious as Bournemouth and Wolves pulled the trigger seemingly without a replacement lined up. We don’t want to end up there
I think it is very likely they have decided to give Ralph until the WC break before making a final decision. However I am also confident they have a shortlist of replacements already formed and may well have even sounded out their agents to gauge interest.
If there is even the slightest chance that they are thinking of getting rid then they would be foolish not to be sounding people out
I hope they sound me out because I will tell them not to be so ****ing daft and to ignore that small minority of fans making all the noise and baying for Ralph to be sacked. They have been watching far too many reality TV shows and are no longer able to differentiate between real life and the media.
I really don't think it's a small minority anymore. Things changed at Brentford last seaaon and I'd say it's 50-50 at absolute best.
Frankly, and I say this as someone who is still Ralph in, it'd be negligent of the board to not be doing so and it'd make me question their decision making. Pretty sure they will though.
Doesn't feel that way at St Mary's. Might do at away games, when everyone's ****faced and on the bugle.
Its not just the young people on the sesh I'm talking about (I tend to avoid them ****s at games too tbf) - I meant Brentford waa when it changed as it was first time fans went against him in ground and it was same week he slagged off the fans. I also just meant in general really rather than at games. Off all my friends/family/colleagues I only know one person other than myself who is still fully behind him.
There are quite a few usually happy clappers on here (myself included) who are at least uncertain about him staying in the job. I still want him to turn it around but the long runs of poor form are stuck in the memory.
Yeah the majority of people I speak to would be placed on the positive side of the black/white pigeon holing on here but lots still think he's ran his course and has come to end of his time here. There's absolutely no way that it's still only a minority that would like a change like it was 6 months ago imo.
None bar anecdotal from the many people I speak to both in general and when I go to games. What's your evidence that it is only a 'small minority' ?
