Yep, as he'll win any Tory member vote. Christ, it's going to happen isn't it?

It's generally a bad sign when it's difficult to tell if your Parliament is behaving more like the Italian legislature, or like an Italian football club.

Pretty likely, seems most of the Truss supporting MPs from the last election are going straight back to him.

So not only will it be him, but it will be the same looking cabinet again as well.

If nothing else, though, she has ensured that "who was the Prime Minister at the time of the death of Queen Elizabeth II?" will be a brutally difficult pub trivia question in 50 years.

If it goes to 2+ candidates, yes.

Really? You sure? You may well be right, but that's not going to be easy in the course of a week. Thought it was just MPs deciding this time?

Tory MP's will vote to indicate who their preferred choice is but if Boris is one of the final two I can't see it making any difference.

    ****ing hell.

If this was happening in another country we'd all be looking on aghast/laughing. What a horror show.

They seem to have forgotten that they’re meant to represent the country.

****ing embarrassing. Not a single one of them cares about anything other than their careers.

Its the same MP's who switched between Truss and then back to Johnson, so the problem is firmly identified.

    Career before country.

Only thing I do wonder is if this might be the step too far for the Sunak backers, a few have already said they would quit the party if he returned, I dont see it being in the numbers required though but I can hope.

Yep, sadly that's long been the case with this shower. They're public servants, but they missed out the 'public' and the 'servant' bit.

    Yep.

Another personal theory of mine has been fully confirmed as well.

For a long time I’ve been saying that finance is “
    ”upstream” of politics.

For all Liz Truss’ faults, she came in and for once a politician tried to actually implement what they said they were going to do. And then the financial markets and media was leveraged against her by the mutineers in the party.

The shadowy oligarchs and old money are more powerful than the prime minister.

In news that will shock absolutely nobody, Jacob Rees-Twat is running a behind the scenes campaign to get Boris back in No.10.

"Hello, is that Sir Graham Brady?"

"Yes, to whom am I speaking?"

"My name is Ali Dia, I am the cousin of worldwide superstar footballer and politician, George Weah..."
