He does speak really well but I felt he kept referring to the team being the most important thing which could be suggesting he’s replaceable. Wolves would be taking a massive gamble with MB and they’re hardly in a position to be doing that.
Yes I noticed that too. Normally he puts heavy emphasis on the collective responsibility of players, manager and staff but here he was very clear to point out the players are the most important.

Don't players get offers mid-season for a new improved contract? So why are we not offering our manager a new improved contract?

I’d offer him a huge bonus to get us promoted. Much as I like him and what he’s achieved in such a short time, I do wish he had a bit more of the Rooney managerial loyalty about him.

I would imagine he’s on a hefty bonus for promotion already. As he says he stepped down from the EPL, so he’s going to be on a good contract already, I don’t imagine the club would be improving it already (though you’d have to think it would be cost effective if compensation of just £1m is true vs all the upheaval of a new manager and club changes that go on around that and the associated costs).

Well, Rooney does have a bank balance healthy enough for generations of his family never to have to work, loyalty is a bit simpler with no financial pressures.

Just had a look at Oddschecker, and SkyBet has Beale at 1/10 for the Wolves job, which would suggest that it's a done deal. However, they don't bet on Leonardo Jardim, who's 1/4 with Betfair (but they don't bet on Beale). Looks between these two.

Ultimately its going to come down to money isn't it?

We don't want to get ahead of ourselves, particularly after last season, but the signs all point to something special building here and I think he sees that and is key to it.

Contrast that with a struggling PL club where he'll be starting again from scratch but with no pre-season and no transfer window immediately available and the next one being the notoriously difficult January window.

From a purely footballing pov staying has to be the only choice doesn't it? Unless Wolves truly make him an offer he can't refuse. I just hope Les and Hoos have a suitable counter offer up their sleeves.

Thing is, he must already be on a decent wage. Very decent compared to most people.
I'll be very disappointed in him if he doesn't see this through to at least the end of the season.

There will undoubtedly be many more offers coming his way.

Yes, bang on.

If we are presently top, would it be fair to say we would be ‘up there’ come end of season, so we may very well get promoted and he will achieve so much more by doing so.

The reward would be greater.

Wolves at present are looking downwards. A much harder prospect you would think.

The problem l currently see is that he had the opportunity to say, no deal…… he didn’t.

Be a Shame if he leaves, good bunch of players that believe in him,and that belief would dissappear with his departure..if he leaves it will be down to the lack of ambition , which maybe Wolves can offer..same old story at QPR,no money,no ambition#Groundhogday

Lot of people saying offer him more money,a better contract,I don't think its as simple as that, its not about a bigger paypacket for him,imo it's about what ambition the clubs have, and as we all know we haven't got a pot to **** in. Hope I'm wrong but I think he'll be gone before the days out :(

According to him he had lots of different offers to manage, but he chose us. Presumably because, even if we don’t have any cash, he’s getting a level of control he won’t get anywhere else, and hopefully because he feels he is working with like minded people. He had a string of objectives around results, development, infrastructure with us., plus as much job security as you get in this game. Wolves or another struggling PL team will simply be ‘results now or you’re out’.

We’ll see what kind of life he wants.

A few clickbait mentions of Anthony Barry, coach at Chelsea, as a possible replacement if MB does depart. I know nothing about him, but he is touted as similar to MB in coaching ability. Interesting - would be good to know if anyone else has info on him.

If he goes, bad and all as that might be, who is he going to take with him?
That to me would be the worst consequence for us…
When the hierarchy signed Beale they should have put in his contract clauses, ie a huge compensation pay off,no taking players/staff..if he jumps ship after just 5 months, after us giving him the opportunity, then hes lacking in loyalty and integrity and a ****house, so fingers crossed he fails at Wolves
