I have to say this is my way of thinking. If he had a good season and raised his stock then fair enough. But to leave us in the lurch only a few games into the season is pretty poor.

If he does go he obviously has a fairly low esteem…..jumping out of a new role, your first, so quickly suggests he doesn’t have confidence in have a similar opportunity at the end of his first season in management.
I'd say it would suggest that he's extremely confident that he can be a success in the Prem. I think he'll see the season out with us anyway.
It would be a great shame if Beale left us now. Does he still have a home in the Midlands? Maybe that is what is attracting him to Wolves.
If he leaves then he has been extremely ill advised, and we will pass him at the end of the season. I feel MB is more intelligent than just jumping ship

I saw that interview and he was just putting words in Beale's mouth.....
'Would it be hard to walk away from this young group of players?'
'Well, yes it would'.
'Is there a big 24 hours ahead for you and QPR?'

To be fair to Beale, he is in an impossible situation. If Wolves offer him a bigger salary then it would be hard for him to reject it. Of course it is a big gamble for him as Wolves could sack him by Easter if things don't turn out as they want.
Clubs cannot expect managers to be loyal when they rarely show loyalty to managers who are always 3 games away from being sacked.

The guy certainly backs himself, and from everything we've seen to date, he's right to do so. Back yourself properly Beale - take us up and then have your pick of good PL jobs instead of joining a basket case like Wolves.
Ultimately its going to come down to money isn't it?
We don't want to get ahead of ourselves, particularly after last season, but the signs all point to something special building here and I think he sees that and is key to it.
Contrast that with a struggling PL club where he'll be starting again from scratch but with no pre-season and no transfer window immediately available and the next one being the notoriously difficult January window.
From a purely footballing pov staying has to be the only choice doesn't it? Unless Wolves truly make him an offer he can't refuse. I just hope Les and Hoos have a suitable counter offer up their sleeves.

Says a lot about the desperate state of football if the extent of Wolves’ planning is to go for a manager with 15 games under his belt who happens to be on a hot but not unbelievable streak of form. Why did their first choices turn them down? Short term thinking or what? Beale talks himself up very well, but it should be remembered Villa’s slump in form started well before he left them, and two fewer wins this season would have us in 11th place.

I must say after watching that interview I feel we have some hope.
He comes across as an honest type and someone who has thought carefully about the path he is forging for himself and you have to admire his preparation.
However, it is clear we need him more than he needs us and that could be a deciding factor.

I agree with your sentiments Sb; we all started MBs appointment with a mix of ‘good prospect’, ‘untried’, ‘gamble’ ‘no managerial experience’ etc. etc.
However, he has impressed everyone associated with the club (certainly me, who wasn’t up for a change, and now very glad we did). He has impressed not just with his team management, player improvement, coaches organisation, root and branch review of the non-playing side, tactical nouse and ability to change within a game when necessary and his honest interviews. You can very easily see why he will be looked at from outside. Did we take a gamble when he was at the start of his previous clubs slump? We did our deep due diligence (hopefully) and went for the right guy.
All that said, you have to earn your craft. He’s done his apprenticeship throughout his career and hasn’t seemed in a rush as he moved up through the ranks. My assessment of him is that he likes to build his abilities/reputation and (unless he changes this club around dramatically and revolutionary) he will inevitably move on. But I would be very surprised if he moved on (to Wolves?!?) so early. But we all know the caveat is the filthy lucre … so something we will quickly learn about Mr Beale - is it about the money or is it about building yourself and getting the BIG job!
