Used to do a lot of work for Bells in Shotts. Stuff that goes in their pies isn't half bad.

Hellish place in the winter, absolutely freezing and they get some amount of snow...

They've got a huge TV mast/Transmitting Station up near the Town and you can see it lit up at night and I'm about 15 miles away!!

agree, he was a great player but his record as manager of Scunthorpe was unremarkable & there are available managers out there with much more impressive records Acun could employ

I'm having to do a Bear Grylls and survive by any means possible this week, the good lady's doing long night shifts.

That said,I'm going to Dalshannon Farm(Indian) tomorrow night with the grandkids cos I can't be bothered cooking, won't need to do the dishes and the heating will be on:emoticon-0103-cool:

Don't suppose you were up in Wetherspoons Cumbernauld a few Thursday's back? There was a lad in with a Hull City Gilet on,never had chance to speak to him as I was in Company after a visit to Daldowie Crematorium...

I used to spend a fair amount of time working in Scotland, dealing with Slaters and Original Shoe Co in Glasgow, USC in Edinburgh and D2 in Dundonald, all big retailers in their day,

Had some big nights out over the years, probably one of the reasons my pancreas is ****ed. <doh>

I've bought the odd suit from Slaters over the years but it's a hellish shop just to browse in,they're on you like a pack of Hyenas and you'd be hard pushed to leave with nothing.

Set up by a Jewish immigrant brought up in the Gorbals(Ralph Slater). His concept was that every man should be able to afford a suit, which to be fair he stuck to in principle.Still going strong and I know loads of people who go there for a top to toe wedding/special occasion rigout.

Ralph was a very nice bloke, as is his son Paul who runs the business now, they’re very good at what they do and have a unique business model (though supplying them pisses off other retailers due to then discounting).

It's used in nearly every league and at nearly every level of football, it means expected goals.

As in, based on that team/player's performance, how many goals should they score?

It's used as a measure of performance.

I find it really interesting. People misunderstand it and misinterpret it and then to counter that they just say it’s pointless and useless.

I think it would help if it became a standardised metric.
