So onto the front three. I watched Sarr closely. The winger who frightened defences has gone. He now loves coming inside, running across a defence, and looks affronted when none of his teammates know where to find him. Even Blackpool had done their homework, and when he was on his wing, two defenders were marking him. I really do wonder if he thought he would be off to bigger and better things, and now is sulking. Is Hamza Choudhury part of this line up or should he be in the midfield with Louza in the three? Whatever after some early promise he seems to have lost interest, or at least become sloppy. So now for Ken Sema. Championship is his level, and we didn't seem the same after his withdrawal at halftime. He doesn't always get it right, who does, but he has been our greatest threat when he gets a cross in from the goal line. As for Vakoun Bayo it would be unfair to say that he wasn't trying. He chased many a lost cause, and certainly did his best.
Kabasele getting stick for his defensive play here or lack of it . Seems to just stop suddenly as if expecting the game to stop or maybe someone else to come across and tackle the player ? Another one of his lapses in concentration/focus .
01:55 and I'm in The Tache Rock Club. Far too sober too. Or rather not nearly drunk enough. Still, with only one or two exceptions, it's like the dj has raided my collection. I'm certainly not letting two hours of uttershite ruin my weekend. Don't go home til Monday. And I'm not driving!
Yes - and might spill into the home games . Apparently got nasty in the stands . I mean yes we didn’t play well in the last 2 games and constructive criticism is warranted as Bilic but is some of the personal stuff too much ? We had all this with Deeney and Foster too - even someone like Mariappa. Particular players targeted - usually high profile ones. Now people saying we could do with players like them . Would boycotting and protesting work ? Seems to me that ls more brought up by those who don’t always go to games . I mean the people asking for the Pozzos moving on are probably the same ones criticising billionaire Arabs and Americans coming in and taking clubs over! What we need is for fans and board to give a manager time and better recruiting in key areas but then lots of fans at many clubs will say that . Also keeping players fit so we can have a consistency in the team which might help improve our performances.
I think the best way to describe that clip is, he is politely very half-hearted. No basics are shown in his defending, you stop the cross(ball) going into the danger zone and so stop the goal chance.
Not here but remember some at the time literally drove him out of the club with the comments made towards of him . Basically saying Deeney was the problem! Well as you say he is exactly what we miss . Bet Troy would be fit enough to play 3 games in a week .
Social media is really kicking off now..... We used to be a family club with great values.... now there is dissent and aggro.....
Haven't watched the Hornets for a while but they haven't grown "venerable" in the time I've been away have they?
Oh dear, I shouldn't try watching football and typing at the same time. Thank you, you are right, they are not highly respected at the moment.
Talk of protest but then I tend to find unless really well organised and you have loads of people who actually want to do it (not that there are really..) they don't amount to much apart from a few people shouting and waving a few banners/signs. Certainly the anti Pozzos/club feeling has increased since Edwards left (caused much more outrage than any of the other 12 sackings made in the last few years) I hope it's not just because we've lost a few games and not doing quite as well as people hoped because that just seems knee-jerk. Frustrating, annoying and disappointed to see 2 poor performances after an excellent win last Sunday but shame to see so much division and fighting between fans.
Bast not to pay any attention to social media, a hiding place for many who think they have something valuable to say.
Andrew French in a no holds barred opinion piece. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/23037231.watfords-problems-dont-get-fixed-hiring-new-coach/
Yes good piece..... Sadly expectation is through the roof..... and the top echelons at the club are being disingenous ( i managed to spell it)..... I for one, like others on here, really feel the need to stand back for a while... if I can.... as the negativity is not what I support the club for
Does anyone think that a player might say they have an injury rather than travel to a game midweek? The injury list seems quite strange. A player out for a few days, suddenly disappears for several weeks. With all the scanners and other technical diagnostic equipment for the medical team, can a player still say he has a twinge, when he actually has a night in planned?
They either seem to be out for ages or rushed back like Sierralta was - only to get injured again . Fitness and injuries have been a common theme under the Pozzos has to be said which is surprising. Is Davis really not ready for 3 games in a week an example?
Particularly if we are going to have fans fighting with others at games just for losing games . Sort of thing you'd expect at Millwall or West Ham. Its disappointing but we don’t want to drive fans away and be left with a load of lads/thugs at away games. If this was the reaction in the 90s for example you would have had rows and disputes most weeks ! I am not sure telling so and so to do this and that is going to help - quite apart from anything they will probably just ignore it. Constructive criticism is needed really - like Bilic gave . Do feel if Edwards was still here or we'd be a bit higher up in the league there wouldn't quite be so much anger.... I mean the Pozzs have been sacking managers and signing odd players that clearly don't fit the team or never play for years. It's nothing new... Just it kind of worked more I guess snd people weren’t so bothered .
