Poor bloke probably gone to find a pub and have a heavy night! One thing losing which happens but sounds like we had a lot of ball without doing much then gifted them 2 late goals. Bilic saying we were 2nd best in desire and passion basically.
You see periods when we push the ball around quickly and accurately, do look as though we are going forward and creating chances. Then we seem to think that as long as we have the ball their defence will open up for us and we can walk it in.
Something very wrong with the squad and attitude, some star players but we need a squad that work hard for each other Sierralta was injured for both the late goals he was trying to get the attention of the bench but was ignored so substituted himself and ripped his shirt off, not sure if or when we will see him again Lack of investment in defence is killings us now Maybe need a couple of years in the Championship to do a total rebuild
So here I am in Blackpool safe in the knowledge that I put more effort and energy (before we get to the money) today than was expended by the blueshirts. A new depth was fathomed today. Beyond awful. "You're not fit to wear the shirt" sung the fans... doesn't even begin describe the performance. And I don't have the words.
They are fine when things are going well, quite upbeat. But you cannot be expected to sound enthusiastic when you see a shambolic defence.
I gave up at half time today - could barely see anything because of the shadows on the pitch anyway. I actually enjoyed myself more by doing some much needed weeding in the garden, in spite of the cold. Am seriously considering a sabbatical in order to rekindle the lost desire to watch them - currently it's simply too frustrating, getting no enjoyment out of watching them mess around at all.
Well Bilic got one thing right. “We got what we deserved today. Absolutely. If it wasn’t for our keeper it could have been 5-1,”
I like Christian Kabasele, William Troost-Ekong and Craig Cathcart as people, but they are not good enough anymore. I think of Chateauroux who had a centre half who had been at the club for many years, so was popular with the fans. As someone on the outside I could see that he was getting too slow, made too many errors, and a bit like Troy Deeney in his last season with us, was past his best. Today we were caught out by balls being played en route one into the center of our defence. The first two of our defenders were pulled well out of position, and it was too late to deal with the threat. Chateauroux have replaced the aged player with a youngster from the academy, accepting he will make some mistakes, but so far he is doing alright. Gosling did well enough, although he didn't really have to show his ability as a defender, and Hassane Kamara flogged himself to death making raids down the wing. So as many have said, my feeling is that the major problem lies with our central defenders.
Agreed...after the dire football last season . and I did think we would be better this season...................
Having torn the centre backs apart I move on to the 2 in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Here we have Edo Kayembe and Imran Louza. I guess that one of these is expected to be a defensive midfielder, while the other is to link the defence with the attack. Well the defender is not Louza, who did try to find the attackers, although far too many of his passes went astray. I still haven't worked out what Kayembe brings to his role. He seems like a lost soul, out of his depth, and you wonder if he understands what is expected of him. The sooner Cleverly is fit the better in my book.
