Really odd game, we looked capable of scoring every time we attacked but didn’t. Looked in control in defence but then made 3 big errors to concede

This may well come back to bite me in the bum, but for some reason I don't expect this to be 0-0 despite Preston's binary season.

Either we have 80% possession, do nothing with it, and gift them a stupid goal, or we get a comfortable victory.

In fact we gifted them 3 goals. Sargent scored a cracker and it's great that Sara scored his first, but 3 sloppy moments did us in against a team that has hardly scored before this. We're an awful long way from being PL standard.

Sounds like you've got your wish. Diamond midfield with Sargent and Pukki both central.

As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for.

Our defence is so error-prone that we can't afford to open up a game. In retrospect, maybe it would have been better if we had played Smith's attritional 4-3-3 after all. We might have got a point in a 0-0 draw.
