I have no idea mate, nobody really deserves to be dropped but leaving Cirkin out will be hard.
It's going to be even more confusing when Ballard returns aswell because he's by far our best CB imo.

Happy problems. Someone will probably injured by then anyway, or out of form. The thing is options, they always make a team better.

As well as many have played, Alesi has just been excellent. If he keeps this up, either at LWB , or LCB, there will be people, ( more people) asking questions at Wist'em about why he was virtually given away.

I mean yeah it would be nice if we had an extra striker with quality but we did spend a lot bringing in some class players and the budget can only go so far. Maybe we looked at who we could bring in for the money left over, if there was any, and it wasn't worth it.

You can make a case for it either way, but what it isn't for me is a legitimate stick to beat Speakman with.

I'm not really having a go at Speakman, as I think he had brought some very good players in.

Whilst Mowbray is verbally supporting his line that their is cover with the young players, in practice with his starting 11, he obviously thinks otherwise.

I'm sure he tried very hard to get Broadhead in, apart from anything else, he has something different to the other strikers.

Was it about money, linked to Neil going? fcuk knows I don't. Other strikers were bound to be on the radar as well.
Speakman should play it straight and say we tried but it didn't come off, rather than BullS about the problem.

I bet Broadheads regretting not signing for us now.
Hes not had much success at Wigan so far this season. I noticed yesterday they started him on the Right wing.

The plan always appeared to be one main striker, Stewart, with Simms as back up. Other clubs, who might have loaned us a player, and players who might've signed wouldn't be too keen to be second reserve imo.

So the alternative would be to sign someone just after one last contract or a young lad with little experience. I'm sure the club will be tracking a replacement for Simms but it's pointless 'bringing in bodies' as we've always done.

It's just short termism and self destructive.

Maybe with the young players it's not so much that they aren't good enough or can't play there it's that they've needed bringing up to speed before they can start. I wouldn't be surprised to see Amad starting on Tuesday he's had some minutes now and looks a player to me.

I just think that like anyone we're working in a budget and for me there's enough credit in the bank that the criticism is undeserved. If our two first choice keepers, or CM, or CB were both injured at the same time we'd be in the same trouble. Just been unlucky imo.

At the end of the day we're looking comfortable in the league which was presumably the objective and if we need to tweak the squad in January we can.

Depends , you're being generous saying all the other signings are great. It's far to early to say that. Some havnt even played 90mins yet.

Leaving us without a single striker is rank and it's detrimental. I feel we would have won yday with one, possession dominant but toothless.

BA will be the best signing IMO.
I agree. Although he needs to learn that he’s playing fir SAFC in the championship and that falling over like he did yesterday twice is unlikely to get him a foul over here! Love watching the lad play mind. Great feet and pace and vision

L09 POST PNE

Luke O’Nien was positive following the draw against Preston today, despite struggling to score Luke praised his fellow teammates for their efforts to keep the clean sheet to claim a point. [HASHTAG]#SAFC[/HASHTAG]

GOOD POINT
“Do you know what I think we’ve gotta give our four players a base and get a clean sheet, it was a good start having that base and a clean sheet. I feel like we created the chances it just didn't quite go in for us. Good point against a team that haven't conceded many so we couldn't quite break them down but we'll look back on that and see how we can improve and attack Tuesday.”

TWO CLEARANCES
“Oh Aji was magic today, I think since he's come into the team he's been different class. Gooch has been brilliant all season as well. We needed those two clearances and they’ve done their jobs.”

BACK IN CENTRE-BACK
“Loving it, I've got great people around me. When you’ve got got DB on my left, Gooch on my right and Pat behind it makes life easy for me so I’ve just got to concentrate and give it to our forward players as quickly as I can so I'm enjoying the role.”

PLAN
“Yeah, rest and recover tomorrow. Some boys will train and some will rest and all attention towards Tuesday, looking forward to it.”

I think the players took Mowbray's message too much to heart.

Clarke, Pritchard, Embleton, etc, seemed too keen to 'contribute' to scoring and were shooting when it wasn't appropriate. We got past their defence well enough but were firing in shots instead of cutting it back for someone in a better position.

With the flair we have up front we need to consider the final pass more and get players coming into the box late and with a bit of space imo.

The move when completely took out a player without actually touching the ball was sublime ...

... just let the ball move across his body and left their player standing.

Aye, that was class mate. As others have mentioned he tended to be looking for a cheap freekick too often but he looks to have real quality.

was not sure if it was just my 'blinkered view' on this (as supporters we always see a better option) but i did feel at times we have the ability to pass it around more rather than appearing to snap at a shot every time, as you say, maybe the players put too much into what TM said..although it did show the confidence in the squad right now, everyone fluffs a few shots but now and again a worldy will hit the top corner and all the misses are forgiven.

hard to keep remembering that these are mainly young lads still learning, i am sure the timing will come to them, just as it is strange not being too upset at a home draw.

This draw will be a great result, IF we win down there, not out of the question, in fact more than likely imo, it will not be just a victory for us, but for football . The comparison to Preston and Wycombe has already been made, and look were they are now, I watch Preston's season with renewed interest OaU.

Aye that little movement was brilliant, i actually nearly stood up to applaud, but just sat smiling in appreciation of a class bit of skill

Nice problem to have having multiple quality players battling for the same spot in the 11, when we have everyone fit I don’t envy the manager trying to pick his 11

When you think we have the likes of Huggins and Ballard to come back it's amazing ...

... I really like Winchester but I think he'll already be thinking about January.
