I have no official figures to back this up.
Nevertheless I'd estimate Newcastle adopt more players than any other club.
They become 'adopted Geordies' for any amount of reasons ...

When I worked at Ellington Colliery was amazed at how many SAFC supporters thereI have no official figures to back this up.

We seem to be getting just a tad obsessed with 'Our Friends to the North' ourselves, on here.
WHY?
Within a few years they will be in that top tier, regularly competing in European competitions.
At least they will for as long as The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is funding them.
They are no longer our local rivals, and for all practical purposes we should ignore them.
The days of a Wear - Tyne Derby being a, more or less, equal match, are over.
Sad, but I can live with that.

If Newcastle were ever gonna achieve any sort of success in my lifetime then this is their best way of them going about it selfishly speaking. Any other way and I'd be devastated
