Counting him or McGuire as one is the only hope of your prediction coming true.

Current players only. Otherwise Hereford would have as much claim on Bowen as an England player as we do.Who is this McGuire you refer to?

Tbh I thought Shaw was one of our best players at the Euros so I’d say the same applies as Maguire which I agree with you, same as Pickford. We’re also not blessed with decent left backs

People always moan about who is selected in the England squad. Usually there's a cool, up-and-coming player who hasn't been called up yet and people get mad about that. This time round there hasn't been much noise about anyone being unfairly left out. Lots of complaints about players who shouldn't be called up, but who should replace them?

its a tough one this form thing, there has to be a balance.
talking about a world cup , to get to the latter stages of a tournament ( which we have twice last 2 tournaments btw ) you are facing the best players in the world and you need your best players, risky game picking a player because he has 5 decent games in a row.
take Grealish as an example , he is not playing a lot for Man City cos they are bloody good , but if he was still at Villa he would be playing every week and probably getting MOTM every week.
so people wouldn't then have an issue with him been in the squad? even though it is the same Grealish with the same ability ? to me he's either in the best 22 players in the country or he isn't ..
i'm not saying he is , just using that as an example , cant pick a player that's not as good just because they play every week for a ****ter team

I’m not going to grumble about Southgate, he’s achieved more than all but one England manager and seems to have reversed our trend of being good in qualifiers and friendlies and **** at tournaments, to bring **** in qualifiers and friendlies but actually turning up to the tournaments.

He’s also picked teams to make a good team, rather than just all the players at the top 6 clubs.

It’s a yes from me. Shota isn’t fit to lick his arsehole.

Marcus Edwards should be there instead of Grealish 100%

He lacks courage though and it’s cost us. Semi-final against Croatia, we got an early goal and then sat back and invited pressure. Lost 2 - 1. Final against Italy was a similar story with us scoring early and having only one more shot on target after if memory serves. Again, we invited pressure, Italy equalised and won on pens. I’ve always thought subbing on players just to take pens in a shootout is a silly idea and puts way too much pressure on the subs.

He seems content to play 5 at the back and two holding midfielders in front of them. With all the attacking talent available to England, that is criminal. He’s called up four right-backs again, for ****’s sake.
