Theres a balance to be had in the back 4/5. Figs will prove his worth. It's too early to tell where we'll end up, but we will inevitably play **** and lose games. We've done so in every promotion year. Hold your bottle and deal with it.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s highly entertaining for a neutral. But in terms of building a successful side we won’t see it continuing as we are. I don’t think we will, but have serious question marks over Shota until the squad is relatively full strength because I do think it’s unfair to judge him properly until then. But I do think he could be doing slightly more on nights like tonight.
There was none of the mccann arrogance though tonight was there? He changed formation midway through the first half, made a change at half time, we won the second half and he held his hands up like the only gaffer I remember since Taylor at full-time. Youre entitled to disagree, but it's a strong character and perceptive tactician who does that.
It’s good to see but playing 4 at the back with a midfield 3 of Slater, Jones and Cannon was only going to end one way. At least he recognised that though yeah as it saved our goal difference having another 2/3 added into it. Should’ve brought one/two back before they added the 3rd too. Good job you 2 are active, coach 1 decided to take the scenic route to the game and won’t be getting home till 4 it’s looking like
I really think you're reading reasoned, considered criticism of how we played and taking it as kneejerk, toys out of the pram complaints. It's really not. A few people have said the same thing, that our current style is unsustainable. That's all. If it gets rectified, then great, no issues. If it doesn't then we'll lose more games than we win. That's all.
We were all whinging last year when shota said ' well concede but we'll score, then became the most defensive club in the league. Now he's delivering on that with a league 1 midfield and we're whinging again.
Of course it's unsustainable, we've got 10 players out FFS. Williams,. L2, Smith, L2, Cannon, L1 at best most recently conference. Longman, first start, Christie, first start, 12million midfield, unavailable.... Give the hand wringing a rest. We lost a game to a side who are were we aspire to be away from home. It happens!
You know you don't have to respond to every single message? Sometimes it's ok to just let things go, as I tend to do a lot with yours. We agree, our form is unsustainable. Great. The end.
In about 5 hours from now, so I suppose that's tomorrow morning your time. Unfortunately I suspect I'll be saying pretty much what I've been saying here. Perhaps the tone of my voice will convey how dry my knickers and unjerked my knee is while saying it.
Hope so. Perhaps the media involved portrays you as far more collegiate as host. Dunno. But I rarely disagree with the consensus on there, for which you can take great credit. See you in the morning - or tomorrow your time when I get round to watching it. C'Mon City!
If that's the case, then the best thing would be to give him space and time, not scrutiny, speculation and expectation. Some things matter more than football. Just lost a friend to it who I went to city with regularly in the 90's. Life is more important
This was always going to be a tough game, they are a good side, and have quality. Chair's goal highlighted this, a very good finish, though a mistake from Jones who was the instigator of it. We are very light, particularly in midfield, I think Shota made a mistake, which he obviously realised as he brought Woods on at halftime, and he made a big difference in the centre of the park. Having said Shota made a mistake, you cannot legislate for Jones having his worst game in a City shirt, very uncharacteristic, as usually, he is very dependable, but just looked slow in thought the whole game. This wss further highlighted by being caught out again, the ball falling to Dykes which must go down as the worst miss of the season. Credit to QPR though, they pressed the life out of us, pushing us into the mistakes we made, we have to learn quickly how to deal with this. Overall 2 losses after a very tough start to the season with a lot of the best players out injured are better than we would have expected. Better to have these problems early on rather than toward the end of the season, so let's hope these injury problems level out over the whole season. It's not good news about Covil, I must say when he went down the 2nd time, I feared the worst as if it had been something minor I don't think him going down in that way he did would have happened. Good luck to the lad and wish him a speedy recovery. We just need to be patient, these sort of games will happen, we just have to minimise them as much as possible until we are up to full strength.
We have shipped 10 goals in the last 3 games. Yes Matt Ingram has made a couple of eye catching saves in those games but all that means is that we haven’t shipped 13 goals in 3 games. time for Baxter.
Perhaps not, but I think if both are fully fit Sinik would be the preferred choice given how much Acun has bigged him up. Pelkas will get his chance first, so he'll need to take it.
