I said it before the game, I said it during the game and I’ll say it again now. That’s exactly where you need a Honeyman in the side.
Because Tufan will undoubtedly take that role when he's back. We can't fit Seri, Tufan, Pelkas and Slater in. And given the form of Slater and Tufan at the start of the season, would you drop him?
What's more effective considering our goals conceded last night. A midfielder who is press resistant, can receive the ball off the defence, already knows where his pass is going and turns and makes the pass, abit like Woods showed when he came on, constantly dropping to receive the ball, so the defenders arnt short of options and have to dwell on the ball. See the Andy cannon mistake, and see the Alfie Jones mistakes, that both led to goals. Out problem is awareness, mobility, and showing for the ball in midfield, they were way too static when our defence had the ball, often with no options for the defence to pass too. When they did get the ball in midfield, they didn't have the quality to handle QPRs press. That all changed when Woods came on, always an option to pass too, its no coincidence the goals stopped flying in and the defence finally had an outlet to pass too................ Watch his off the ball work. Wheb our defence has the ball. Watch Slater, Cannon and Jones off the ball The difference is night and day.
Wonder what McLoughlin is thinking...we are shipping goals at the back yet he cannot get a single minute of game time.
The same thing happened Saturday. The midfield lost all cohesion when Woods went off. At present Woods is our best midfielder and should be on the starting lineup vs Sheff Utd. I was so baffled before the game when he was dropped for Cannon. Its no coincidence we conceded 2 when he came on
Well I hope the club takes a proactive role in stabilising this - remember Brian Lenihan...not sure what the club did for him at that time.
What needs to be done and quickly is to establish how all these injuries are occurring.... in modern day football it should not be happening to this level and this isn't a one off at this club. Who are the conditioning staff, what are their methods....? etc etc. At this rate it will be 20 games plus before we start to get a semblance of a preferred team together, by which time the damage will have been done. If Seri has a mental issue, I can only assume that he has changed his mind about the project or his family don't like the area... or there is something else much larger in his personal life..
We could all see last night coming, we lose possession easily, we are too open. Even at home when teams press us, you can see we could get a hiding at anytime
I'd drop Slater if the squad was full strength. I don't particularly like a deeper two of Slater & Seri, it just lacks physicality for me
Our lot all agreed before the game that not playing Woo in a game like this, with the personnel available was baffling. And with our two right side players, neither of whom have played for months? No hindsight required, Shota ****ed up big time.
Someone told me at the game last night that all our new foreign players are living in penthouses in Leeds, are earning £40k a week, and are out on the piss every night. The fella doesn't live or work anywhere near Hull these days and was supposedly told this by an ex-staff member of the club. It is all 100% bullshit.
Don't pour petrol on the fire because some people will believe it, add a few grand and then the rumour grows legs. I'm astounded at what I hear sometime's. Its absolute bullshit, maybe some fans want to hear this 5hite ? Maybe it's not our fans who kick this sort of stuff off ? Just ignore it for what it is.
Yes, amazing what some folk accept as gospel. Yet the same people ignore mountains of evidence which disprove their conspiracy theories. Hope you told him he is a daft twat.
