Coincidently Gareth from WMS was just on RTG this morning jousting with Donald down the wing after Donald said we were probably still coping with the after effects of Madrox. His point was that Satori was still there (another jibe at the board it seems)
He's an arrogant tosser, out of his depth, inters with AN were masterclasses in how to answer stupid questions. Its an awful show that needs a Total Overhaul starting with the removal of Pridey and Barnsey.
The WMS lot are obsessed with Madrox, particularly Sartori I wouldn't disagree that we are still dealing with the mess that Stewart Donald left behind, but this obsession with KLD using the same lawyer as Donald/Methven, Sartori still being on the board etc. It's unhealthy almost to mag-esque obsessiveness
I really don't want to go down this particular rabbit hole but if Bob is a close to the SAFC hierarchy as he says (and I have no worthwhile opinion either way) then it seems obvious to me that his 'mates' know he posts on social media and prime him with the info they want out there, when they want it out there. And they're quite happy to play him (good info/duff info/mixed messages/changed direction) in order to keep things confused to suit them. Which is why he gets so much stick, rightly or wrongly. I have known SAFC players in the past, only one currently, and the only thing I can say with any confidence is that very, very, very few people have the faintest idea what goes on at the top levels of the club. The players I knew knew less than me most of the time.
PS - If Nick Barnes told me today was Tuesday I'd buy a newspaper to check. Anyone buys into his **** deserves all they get.
That only works if we have another options lined up on the conveyor belt which we don’t. Selling Stewart now without a ready made replacement would be bad business, indicating we’re probably another window or two away from it being effective.
Yeh the whole point of taking the 9.7m profit is it frees up loads of new options. not that I want Stewart sold.
Being a local football journalist is a tricky line. If you want the snippets from the club before the nationals then sometimes you have to toe the party line.
I for one will be keeping council regarding the new manager for at least ten games. Bought into so many from the off over the years. Best to wait and see. If it's Mowbray, so be it and good luck to him.
As soon as you accept you’re at some point going to sell your best players then you invest and build in the young’uns to come through and replace them. Hopefully the selling point coincides with a ready made replacement dropping into the team. Less money needed in transfer fees to patch up the gaps. Lots doing this and at last we’ve got past our big club hang up and joined in.
I hope he's seen enough of our matches to know the players a bit and to keep the system going. That's my worry, that he changes the way we play in favour of a more defensive system. I've enjoyed our attacking approach, with the twin strikers and the doubling up with the wing backs and I hope he doesn't bin it.
Yes he might have went anyway. But according to one report I read, Stoke apparently turned to Neil, when a different target would have cost them too much in compensation. That's one way a contract can work, but in the end you can't keep someone who doesn't want to be here. Neill will make more money leaving for Stoke, but unless he does very well indeed there, promotion next season at the latest IMO, I think his behaviour will damage his reputation in the game in the longer term. Barring him revealing information that he has been as pure as driven snow in this, he'll find it hard to get any club to trust him down the line.
Hasn't stopped Bruce getting job after job, In his early career he was known for jumping ship at the soonest whiff of interest elsewhere. Sheff Wed fans witnessed it recently
Aye. Bruce is a slippery sod. But he has had five promotions, so you can sort of see why he gets a job.
Particularly if Canning goes to Stoke in the meantime. That would just leave Dodds and Proctor and that's enough to grow hairs on a rock.
I just don't see a problem but it shouldn't be needed, club business is club business ... ... we should've had one for Steve Bruce, he's never stopped talking about us.
