Honestly think it'll be Williams who goes out. Think longman, Ali, Pelkas and, Sinik were envisaged to be fighting it out for the attacking wide berths, with Tetteh scrapping it out with Oscar for the 9 in a front 3. If we're 3 5 2 though it's probably going to be Pelkas and M'Hand scrapping for the 10 with the 3rd striker competing with Oscar and Tetteh for front 2, Longman can cover second striker also.
I'd only envisage Longman going out if we wanted to bring 2 forwards in. It's weird too but Cannon could start tomorrow yet leave the club by Thursday and I wouldn't be surprised
I think P'boro are a way better side then people give them credit for and Grant's a very decent gaffer. Under him they were a lower bottom half Champ side. They've got plenty of good players and I think they had a better squad than ours last season. They've kept it together and it's no surprise they've had a decent start
Baffled as to why Shota thinks we need another midfielder in addition to Slater, Seri, Tufan, Woods, Docherty, Cannon and Salah. Alfie Jones can play there too. I know we’re crippled by injuries right now but even with Tufan, Seri and Docherty being out, it’s not an area I think needs anymore additions. I expect Cannon to leave this window and we’d still be fine for bodies in midfield.
We currently have Seri, Tufan, Slater, Woods, Doc and Cannon. If Cannon goes out then we struggle with the 2 bodies for each position which he appears to want. Believe there may be interest in Doc - certainly prior to injury also.
I would’ve like that Ndayishimiye but I can’t see it happening. I don’t think Cannon leaving would make us light either.
I agree. Pelkas, another centre-half and maybe another striker on loan would see us done in my opinion.
Sure, he'll bring experience, can perhaps pull some strings in central Africa, but looks like a chubby Les Ferdinand
He was the one wandering vs West Brom. The fullbacks were told to tuck in narrow with the intention of the wide attacking players protecting the space on the flank. Baz posted pic on twitter after Burnley of us defending with effectively a back 6. The infamous pic on here criticising Coyle showed Williams just wandering back and a wide open space on the flank at WBA. He was subsequently dropped. Covill was preferred on Sat. It's a big step from. L2 to Champ. He's not had a lot of time due to injury last year, but he's got to be better coming back the other direction for me. I suspect he'll be loaned out. Suspect if there are takers at a decent level for Williams, Smith and Cannon they'll go out. Covill maybe also, but they may want Covill to boss it in the 21's.
Traore said to a lad that he's only a month away too. If we get another midfielder, he clearly doesn't rate Doc or Cannon at all. If it's a big, ball winning holding midfield I can completely understand but anything else wouldn't make much sense
Traore might be a month away from training on grass and kicking a ball, but he'll take a couple of months beyond that to get to anything like full fitness. If the businessplan is to develop/acclimatise talent in the championship with a view to selling on for profit - as all non-parachute clubs need to do to at least some extent to compete, then it makes less sense to hold onto Cannon and maybe also Doc.
