Just think if Derek gets the job how stupid you will look. I put his name to Speakman last night. But there were 2 others in the frame, I presume 1 is Mogga don't know who else.
He was at Aberdeen, and did well with no budget, nowt for 5 years, fits our set up that. He turned us down, why because Ellis sent Ally the piss head and his side kick Walter Smith to interview him at Edinburgh airport both were pissed when he met them. Total lack of respect for our club and him. That's why he said no.
he turned us down when we appointed Jack Ross, no? edit - I’m wrong - it was when we appointed Grayson
McInnes is currently at Kilmarnock. Not saying that would be a reason for turning us down but he has just got them promoted.
Why would Speakman listen to a fan putting a name to him ? If he asked a load of fans he would get a load of different answers
Like him or not, Speakman better have a list of more than 2 bastard candidates. Especially as one is a lazy one to throw in there.
Having seen the candidates I'd like to see the lad from Chelsea get a chance. Clearly very highly thought of.
I reckon they have just gone back to the original list from when Alex Neil was appointed as he obviously wasn’t first choice. Manning gets the nod from me but can see why we would be looking at Derek Mcinnes again.
You said it was done last time and he was on his way. Now you say we sent two pissed up blokes to interview him in a airport? I know nowt about any manager if I'm honest, whoever it is I'll judge then while here not on what they have done before.
Think you are totally wrong KLD and Speakman have steadied the ship and recruited a very competent recruitment team and we now have a structure in place that we have lacked for years . I am of the opinion that most SAFC fans are delighted with the progress we have made after years of apathy and neglect , I think that was shown on Saturday by the fans level of support , the players rather than having a hangover played with pride and passion and should have beaten the best team in the championship and would have if we had carried any luck in front of goal .
Whoever it is I hope they don’t rip up the playing style and start again. Seems to really suit this group. Yes we need to strengthen before the end of the window but it doesn’t need a major overhaul IMO
Surely if it was still Mowbray though it would’ve been ready to go last night following Neil’s confirmed departure? Fwiw I still think it’ll be him, but I think the gun has been jumped on Mowbray. Like you, hoping it’s Manning but it’s a slim chance
According to Roker Report this morning it looks to be Mowbray, very underwhelming imo. But may have the experience to keep us on the right track, who knows, but very uninspiring.
The DOF model is built for this, they get a head coach that fits the model so when the time comes for a change, there’s no real overhaul like we’ve had in the past.
Happy to trust them on this. I think our last 2 managerial appointments have been right. As much as it didn't work out with Johnson, his style of play dragged us out of the turgid Parkinson era and we were an attacking team that could play nice football at times. Alex Neil then took us on another level. If theres only 3 candidates (Mowbray, Manning and Barry) and we interview them all, I'll be fine with whichever we choose. I get the feeling that Manning and Barry could be mentioned every time we appoint a manager in the next several years unless they surpass us.
