I wonder what the attraction of Britain is over being in Europe? Do we have easy access to benefits, no social ID, better weather? Who knows...One in four arriving by boat are according to reports this morning are Albanian men, according to @Smug in Boots figures, that's 5,667 approximately. Not sure what is going on in their country, but you are correct in saying without the help of European help the tide of people will keep coming here and not sure there is any will within Europe to find any sort of solution to migration.
I wouldn’t worry about them Rooch, once they are in power there is always someone waiting to drop them a few quidIt sounds as though if Labour get in they can’t afford their electric bill.
They keep saying we can’t send people back anywhere if they don’t have papers and we can’t verify their origin. But if we know these Albanians are Albanians , then why can’t we send them back .One in four arriving by boat are according to reports this morning are Albanian men, according to @Smug in Boots figures, that's 5,667 approximately. Edit: just seen the news. We changed the rules 18 months ago due to Brexit. We have processed 17 222 cases and sent 21 people back... we are still working through 117,945 claims, some waiting over a year for a decision.
We have no agreement with France to return refugees and may agree one next week with Albania which could see Albanian police on the beaches of Britain getting ready to arrest and deport any Albanians... surreal
why do people keep insisting we 'need to work with europe' and especially france to stop these people coming to the UK...they don't want them either so if they prefer to take the chance over the water to get here why should they even try to stop them?
if they work with us to stop them getting over the water it simply means more for them to contend with and the simple fact is that no one really 'wants' them, yes they would all welcome legitimate migrants and especially the better qualified but if all these people really are running away from wars and persecution then all that says to me is that the rest of the world is a really messed up place and the likes of europe, the USA and russia etc should work together to stop all the disputes and each one they sort has to 'get on board' to help stop the next one.
it sounds easy and it actually would be, except if there are no wars there are no countries asking for aid or weapons and that would mean the capitalists wont be able to take over commodities in payment for the aid/weapons so once again it comes down to greed.
Mind control to Major Tom

If you consider that we get less of a percentage here than most of the rest of Europe I doubt there isn’t any will in other places. The rise of Le Pen and Co, similarly in Germany is evidence of that. One in four arriving by boat are according to reports this morning are Albanian men, according to @Smug in Boots figures, that's 5,667 approximately. It’s better that than RwandaThey keep saying we can’t send people back anywhere if they don’t have papers and we can’t verify their origin. But if we know these Albanians are Albanians , then why can’t we send them back .
She didn’t mention them so how should I know? She mentioned this one though. How many active Labour agents?

Show me where a news editor complained about it and I’ll tell you what I thinkJust curious as to whether you were interested in the political persuasion of any non Tories at the BBC.

Italy Greece Switzerland Germany Spain France Norway Sweden Russia Belgium and the UK all have high levels of immigration. We just seem to have been manipulated into thinking they’re all coming here.If France makes crossing the Channel extremely difficult the migrants won't be so attracted in the first place. The inhabitants of Calais, and other Northern towns, suffer greatly from having these people passing through or staying.

Surely the complication is that when we contribute or don’t contribute to a conflict or reduce foreign aid, or exploit workers scared and hungry people travel elsewhere. It’s a huge systemic world problem. Planes to Rwanda and 3 extra security boats are ridiculous gimmicks. Maybe I’m finding my own simple (not simple) solution but I can’t help think that there isn’t another answer beyond the redistribution of wealth and better relationships.
If you are in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Somaliland, Eritrea, Nigeria, Congo etc where there is hunger and war the opportunity to leave must be huge. If we think it’s someone else’s issue it becomes our issue ironically.
I agree with collaboration it’s a reason I’d like to change the voting system but I don’t honk this is a thing uk collaboration will sort. It’s a United Nations thing. I think it’s difficult because less developed nations see our riches and think they should be shared and developed nations think they shouldn’t. Which is why I always go back to the bizarre riches some people and organisations possess and if they don’t distribute it where it’s needed the issue will not subside. It’s easy for them when we blame the bloke on boat.In an early reply to you some day ago l mentioned systems in place.
We have no systems in place and we have no will within Parliament to put one in place as they are probably not vote winners.
I would suggest that there isn't a British political party can deal with the problem of putting in place a system that would be fair to all concerned.
The noise from all opposition party is quite deafening and without them ALL working together to put in a fair workable system agreed by all l doubt it will ever come to fruition.
Politicians working together for the good of the Nation, now there's a thought
That's my experience although I've absolutely no idea of figures.
While travelling through Sicily and Sardinia there were endless immigrants working the fields, olive groves and orchards.
Those figures are astonishing, but l dread to think of how exponentially higher they would have been if we didn't have the Conservatives in power right now. After all they told us all they were taking back "control" over our borders and legal system after "Brexit"A record 1,295 people arrived in the UK on Monday after crossing the Channel in small boats, according to the Ministry of Defence.
It's the highest daily total since current records started in 2018. The previous high was 1,185 on 11 November 2021.
Twenty-seven boats were detected yesterday.
The provisional total for crossings so far in 2022 is 22,670; this time last year it was just short of 12,500.
Total crossings in 2021 were 28,526.
