This has just made my day. Go on Liz, make Maggie proud!

---------------------------------------------------------

Liz Truss, who is currently bookies' favourite to become the next PM, has vowed to "crackdown" on strikes if she is selected as Tory Party leader.

The foreign secretary has outlined her plans to tackle strikes, which include introducing minimum service levels to keep transport links running.

"Once again we're seeing militant trade unionists holding our country to ransom," she told the Daily Express.

"As prime minister, I'll crackdown on the debilitating strikes that cripple the vital services that hard-working people rely on."

Still crying. Too much weed making you emotional? You are the only person on here that can't see how it negatively effects you. Smoke less or give it up. You can't handle it.

I'm not sure if you've noticed but your the only cannabis user on here which constantly slags it off for causing psychosis in people(namely me based on your personal dislike)......now I've smoked weed for over 30 years and if I ever thought the propaganda against it was true then I would never have started in the first place.......see covid vax for the type of guy I am

So yeah its a bit weird you believe in the propaganda yet you still use it......your either fking completely stupid or its just a one trick pony

Abe I'm going to ban you from this thread for a few days, go back to the virus thread please.

I should add, the reason I'm asking Abe to go back to the Virus thread is because I've banned Saff from there, so hopefully we can keep these two lads apart.

Regards
Kim Jong-Un
<laugh>

Fair enough, I was long bored with him, anyway.

Dock workers at the UK's largest container port have gone on strike for the first time in 30 years.

About 1,900 members of the Unite union at Felixstowe in Suffolk are walking out for eight days in a dispute over pay.

Unite said members rejected a 7% pay offer from the Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company, which it said was below the rate of inflation.

About 2,550 people work at the Port of Felixstowe - the country's busiest port, handling about 48% of the UK's container trade.

Ahead of the strike, port spokesman Paul Davey said workers had been offered 7% plus a single payment of £500.

He said the offer represented "an increase of between 8.1% and 9.6%, depending upon the category of worker at the port", at a time when the average pay increase in the country was 5%.

"We've got a shrinking economy, we're going into recession - as a country I think that's a very fair offer indeed," he said.

It’s a joke! They’re getting good offers. This inflation rise is out of the ordinary. Bet you if it was a -10% inflation rate they wouldn’t accept a pay decrease.
That is a disgrace. They've been made a very good offer. Call their bluff and sack the ****ing lot of them. People would be queuing up to take them jobs at the pay offered.

Summer of discontent starting to get in full swing. Bring back Maggie.

Instead of strikes people should vote these tory ****s out
The unions don't give two ****s who is in charge. They use the Labour supporters to get what they want. Did you not know that?

So what you mean is they are using the collective bargaining power that they have to get the best deal for their members. Which is exactly what they are there for.

They are in a pretty good bargaining position at the moment. Most industries are suffering labour shortages, the ports latest figures showed good profits for their Hong King owners and inflation is currently high. Wouldn’t you rather some of those profits went into UK workers pockets than all go to some Chinese-run conglomerate?

Its when they are doing it for political motives I don’t like it.
