My life has been worse under the tories and it was the same for my family in thatchers Britain. the lesser of two evils all day for me. The sooner we've rid the earth of the tories the better.
The issues I have are... 1). Workers know what the wage is when they agreed to work for their employer. If they don't like, don't accept the job. 2). What their bosses are being paid or their shareholders is none of their business. 3). I don't see how striking benefits a country when the cost of living is going through the roof and the economy is failing. We need all hands on deck to work our way out of this.
What would help us less profits for shareholders and billionaires, some cash in the working man’s pocket to spend would help the economy. It’s a fine line. But I’m going to cut back while interest rates rise and grow my little pots of investments. Which isn’t going to help at all.
lol, I was going to expand on it, but that's generally how it works. Those with nothing left to lose start the revolution, and those with grievances join in when they see there's enough. Of course, history shows that if they win it usually ends up with someone worse in power afterwards, at least for a time.
1) So you think that once they have accepted a job they are then at the mercy of their employers in terms of changes in future terms and conditions 2) The workers are important stakeholders in the business and far more important than the shareholders. I agree with you that its none of the business what their bosses are being paid but the dividend that is being paid to shareholders is based on the profits the company make. Keeping salaries low and then taking a bigger dividend is certainly their business and they are entitled to complain if they feel the balance is wrong. 3) expecting workers to forego a cost of living increase and then allowing foreign companies to repatriate excess profits is really not all pulling together though. Just as the employers have the right to terminate their employees if they are losing money the employees have the right to strike for better pay and conditions.
1. The trouble is that workers do not agree to work for little or no pay rises. Employers are allowed to make redundancies, issue pay cuts, changes to working practices, working hours etc. So for me it is fair enough to protest at rubbish pay rises. 2. Bosses and shareholders making a fortune from bonuses and big payrise while workers are offered very little is hypocrisy for me. We are either all in it together or we ain't...and it is clear that there is one rule for us and another for them. 3. Billions were written off as loses from Covid loans and payments to businesses with barely a murmur but people asking for a payrise to keep up with inflation are being slaughtered. Payrises ain't caused inflation...People have been getting low payrises for years (apart from MPs) yet inflation has jumped. These pay demands are because of the jump not the cause of it. Imho shops and petrol companies are profiteering by over pricing to try and make up for money lost during the lockdowns. This is making millions stop spending or seriously cutting back...which in turn is damaging the economy. Not a dig or a pretence that I am right btw...just my opinion
I listened to Radio 4 phone in yesterday about the Rail strikes . It was almost unanimous support apart from one guy ( really posh accent ) . There was some well to do people actually phoning in in support . I was quite surprised . I think The blonde prick plus thick as **** Truss are doing a great job .
I don't believe I should have to put up with this for several reasons, firstly the conversation of seperating two posters had nothing to do with you, secondly you are talking about something 'last year' which is now over eight months ago, so thirdly, let me keep this simple for you, if you don't like it go find another site to sulk on.
Yeah not quite sure how you think it's a Sulk . You said to me n Staff to put each other on ignore did you not ? So I agreed so don't see your point .
Take a week off fella. As I said the situation between Saff and Aber has fook all to do with you, I dealt with it and we all moved on, except you. I deal with people in different ways as the situation is best served, much like I did with Matth when I perm banned him from the site. Just because something occurred with you last year, has nothing to do with now, we are not kindergarten, the added bonus is your week off will give you something else to reminisce on in another years time.
Russia is a colonial empire stuck in the 2020's. It's a Federation simply because releasing the control of it's colonial provinces were too much for it to handle. It's essentially a collection of Asian steppe nations under the control of the historical Muscovy. There are plenty of Russian thinkers who air this opinion and believe it is the core problem the nation today faces that they're unwilling to address. It needs dictators to survive. It's a race between what disappears first, the UK or the Russian "Federation"
