I’d have liked a strong defensive midfielder too but it looks like we’re not in for one. Ndayishimiye would’ve been interesting if we ever pulled it off. I like Bielik but he joined Brum on loan from Derby. Seems Shota prefers more technical and agile holding midfielders like Slater, Seri and now Woods over a ball-winner. Hopefully Alfie can fill in as the ball-winner now Smallwood’s gone.

King Alfred has absolutely bossed that position the last two games but we all know he’s not going to continue there given the competition, whether he deserves to or not.

People on here take the piss cause I said we need a big fella in that position to break up play and do the dirty stuff but all the best clubs in the world have one. Liverpool have Fabinho, Man City have Rodri, Madrid have Casemiro etc.

I guess shota prefers more technical midfielders and maybe acun aswell since he says we want to play attacking football .

finding a big guy that is also technical and can pass like rodri , busquests etc is going to costs way too much for us
