Why not?

Even if he had a decent season here, and scored, say, 8-10 goals, that doesn't mean City would be putting him into their first team the season after. Haaland is going to be their first choice striker for the next decade. Good chance therefore that a loan for Delap could be extended into a second season, or even turned into a loan-to-buy if he doesn't quite reach the standards that City require.

 

For Delap if he’s going on loan, maybe better to be fighting at the top of the championship (lots of attacking) rather than bottom of the Premiership

They'd need to start by actually offering a fee for him rather than a loan...

 

I think it'll be worth keeping an eye on what is happening with Gordon then.

 

I can't see anything recently from Romano on Che Adams but it might be buried somewhere else

 

I couldn't find anything either, Thought he could of said something in a podcast, Who knows how these accounts find some of this information.

My reticence with selling Adams is it would require bringing two strikers in and we seem to be struggling to bring one in. “Seem to be” being the key words. It appears that we are waiting to see if Delap is definitely off the table. But hopefully that doesn’t mean we have missed alternatives (but easily could have)

In terms of other striker rumours - the only others are Adamu and Sasa K - neither of whom have moved. Sasa seemed to be waiting on Bayern and Man United. Bayern are off the table now and Man United have been linked with Morata. I’d fully expect man United to go for Morata for 30m over Sasa for 21m

The other rumours from the weekend was a premier league based attacker. But that was from Alex Crook and also could have meant an attacker who is not a striker. Because there really don’t seem to be many strikers who are premier league based who are both available and affordable

Ah so he directly told that source. Rather than tweeting it. Probably because every tweet he does gets met with "big clubs only Fab!" and "What about Chelsea?"

 

I think we might be in for Jørgen Strand Larsen.
Just a hunch. He gave an interview saying he’s disappointed in FC Groningen for ignoring offers. He seems like a very saintsy signing

Someone on Ugly Inside has said we are apparently interested in Goncalo Ramos (who Newcastle are after). But they have been quoted 35m+. Whether that is the actual price or includes a Newcastle premium is unclear

That said - this was just someone on the forum. And they had someone on the main site write a piece about the Garner links saying we should be going to them for Phil Jones and Brandon Williams instead! I appreciate those *positions* are higher priority. But that doesn't mean we go to Man United for them!
